The top military guy for the middle east said he would resign if they ever decided to attack Iran.

He's now "resigned"

I really have no clue as to how the US can benefit from attacking Iran.

There are a ton of Iranians living in Canada and the US. Regardless of whether they like the current regime in Iran or not, if you start bombing their homeland, killing their families, they're going to side with them.

They have money, they have jobs, they have the capability to do far more damage than flying a couple of airplanes into a building (or bombing it)

The next step might be to round up all Arabs and put them in camps for 'their protection'

I would far rather live in the US than Iran, but if assume dropping a bomb is one of the most evil things a country and do, and the US has dropped 90% of all bombs dropped in the last 50 years... you tell me who is the axis of evil

i don't think any country should provide 'aid' to any other country in the world. it also works at the micro level, no one should provide help to the homeless and whatever. what they should have done is invested in energy research, infastructure, education (southern states like alabama have 3rd world literacy rates), and such good things that help raise the GDP growth rate.

iran would never bomb Israel. They have nothing to gain by doing so.

The people of Iran are not as extreme as you think. They are in love with American ideals. If it wasn't for US intervention, they would be a far more Westernized society.
