Getting layed off sucks....anyone hiring???

SO yeah, I get the boot today. Layed off, not fired. This is what I get after designing half the equipement in the plant AS A STUDENT over the past 2 years, and then I finally get my diploma and instead of hiring me on as an actual employee, they flush me down the toilet!!! Not to mention my wife and I are already broke enough that we have to barrow money from our parents. So this just adds injury to insult!

Anyone out there looking to hire a mechanical engineering technologist with 2-3 years experience???

****ty deal dude.

where did you get your diploma? cause you might be able to contact your school and if they did offer coop or other job finding services let them know. they might be able to work something out for you.

EI is based on what you put into it...if you didnt work enuf hours or put enuf into it they might not approve you

but yeah man .... just collect EI and work a cash job or side jobs n then start looking for a real job again in maybe 6 months

don't listen to these guys.. never sit and collect EI and then look for a job down the road.. always be out there looking for a job while you're collecting EI.. any real job is better than an EI cheque..

If you want a job in that field apply to TTC, my bro has a job there and he does the same thing as you.

don't work for the military, you aren't going to learn a job skill, you'll be away from your family (unless you live near a base)...

military pay is good... but you are qualified as a mechanical engineering technician, don't bother with the military

and, YES! you can collect EI if you get fired
