check your blind spots regardless of where you are (highway or regular streets). As long as your changing lanes you MUST check. I failed my first time round because I didn't check my blind spot.
The situation was like this: I'm in far left lane getting ready to make a left. There was a separate left turn lane and I just "merged" into it but I didnt check my blind spot because I was in the farthest left lane and opposite traffic was separated by those concrete barriers.
go figure.

look both ways as you pass an intersection..
I took my G with a 5spd that grinded in 2nd and 3rd.. the instructor didn't care, I just told him my tranmission had a slight problem. It wasn't a BAD grind, but it almost sseemed like I wasn't pressing the clutch sometimes..
maybe I got lucky..

Yupyup, good luck brother Kieran!
Do a mirror check every 5 sec, check blind sport whenever you change lane, look at the back physically when you are reversing the car, make sure when you do an emergency stop/pullover, you turn your steering wheel to the correct direction, good luck!

Just drive like the cops are following you for a week before (i know your test is tomorrow, but whatever). thats what i did and i passed no prob.
ALSO...WATCH FOR CROSSWALKS! During the day you may not notice one blinking...Its easily overlooked! Some test ruites go through crosswalks on purpose to make sure you actually recognize them.

I did my G with my 5spd civic. I talked to my tester the whole time while shifting smoothly and following all the rules. My test ending up being about 15mins with no parallel or anything. I think that the tester looks for confidence behind the wheel.

I doubt that driving a 5speed over an auto caused you to fail.. unless you like stalled the car repeatedly. You drive a 5spd, and you failed due to many mistakes.. Your not fit to drive!
