H2O Conditioning
We're thinking about getting a system that purify and condition our water supply. We noticed that during the winter months, the water seemed to be hard and leaves our skin dry and itchy. There are many types of systems available and would like to know who out there has one installed and how much it usually run for?

its not just the water that makes your skin dry, its the cold dry weather bro...water conditioners are expensive to buy and then you have to maintain them...you really only need one if you live in the sticks or something...try using lotion!

Researches show that the water is harsher in the winter than in the summer b/c they put more chemical **** in them, I guess it prevents it from the cold. Thus causing your skin to become more dry. I presumed it's due to the climate too as Matt says, but in all, we need one installed.
We heard a lot of good thing about the softener, so we're in the market.

I got one installed at home, not sure how much it was, but I'm pretty sure it was over $1000. At first you may feel that the water feels soapy. After a while you won't notice it anymore. I could live without it. However, normal water never really made my skin feel itchy.
