Hauling in a Tuna

These pics were taken in North Lake, Prince Edward Island. Considered to be the tuna capital of the Island. I just missed the weighing the fish and cutting off the head and tail. The fish weighs in at 550 lbs without the head and tail. This one was considered to of a smaller haul as some of the ones previously hauled in at 800-1000 lbs. Hope you enjoy.

In a different context, this could be a really frightening photograph.

Wow that's crazy! I grew up in the east coast, the norther part of NFLD, I've never seen a tuna in my area, had no idea PEI was like that. I've heard they can get up to 1000 lbs. I've see videos where your straped into a chair on the back of the boat with a fishing rod. I can only imagine the fight to haul in one of these bad boys. Must be quite the workout.
