I HATE PEEL COPS??

i went for a quick boot around my block to show my friend some new stuff i had done with the sound system, and it being late and all i figured i'd be nice and go do it in a less populous area... as we get to the parking lot that we were going to listen to a few tunes in we see a cop so we keep on driving.... cop follows us... pulls us over, because we look suspicious?!?! WTF? gives me a ticket for no lisence... even tho he doesn't usually...(BS) and he only gave me a ticket this time because he has problems with my headlights and sidemarkers (which are both perfectly legal) he told me that front signals had to be amber, when i asked him where it said that in the HTA he said 62.1, when i said "isn't that the part that says you have to have two white or amber lights facing forward" he changed the topic to the sidemarkers which apparently according to peel's finest are only allowed on tractor trailors...... and while i was pulled over three cops, count 'em a total of three cops came by as i sat there for 50 minutes!! don't we have a better way of spending our tax dollars?? that's 4 cops in an hour span....had the need to stop and chat.... real busy eh? ...... ARGH!!


:fustrated: and then after telling me he's giving me the ticket because of my lights he says he'll have no problem dropping the charge if i go to court and show them my lisence.... even after he knew i had one from the computer....

usually they don't hastle ppl about licence... they can check that.. it's the insurance cards they have probs with... $5000 fine for not producing it either...

I don't know why people bitch about being ticketed for not carrying a licence? That's a piece of identification you should be carrying with you all the time.

I don't think it is documented anywhere that says:

Carrying a Driver's Licence with you while operating a vehicle is an option

Awww Alex....I feel for you. I was pulled over the other night in Burlington. Cop did a U-Turn followed me for a bit then decided to pull me over. He wanted me to pop my hood which I did...I said "yup....its a completely stock engine" but he still looked around...underneath the car...then proceeded to ask me for my license, insurance, etc...while I went back to my car to go get it he then asked me what year my car was "a 98" and told me "don't worry I don't need your license or anything anymore...Have a good night!" THANK you Mr. Officer for wasting 20 Minutes of MY time.

Nova_Dust, I don't think it says anywhere that you NEED to carry your license WITH you while operating a motor vehicle, as long as you are licensed to do so to begin with. Our tax dollars didnt' buy laptops for every cop car just so they can play games and chat on IM... NOOOOOO... we got them so they could check to make sure we are legit drivers.

I know it's my fault for not having my lisence on me even tho i was like two blocks away from home, but even the cop himself told me the ticket would get thrown out in court if i had a lisence, and that he was only giving me a hard time because of my front signal lights.... i'm bitching about being ticketed for something that he wouldn't have normally had i been driving my mom's stock accord... he's just trying to make me waste me time take time off work to fight a ******* joke of a ticket.....

pat, it's true peel cops are the worst.... never had a problem anywhere else but peel.... and i drive the same car in ALL the regions.... makes you wonder doesn't it??

I did some research before I got the detector. You know, Ontario, along with Quebec, Virgina, DC, Victoria (Australian State) and FRANCE ( ) are the only places they are banned. Everywhere else, they are legal. In fact, in France, they can impound your car. Only the French
