Heard about the New Internet???

I Have Found The Website:

LINK

I just heard from a colleague at work that the "NEW Internet" is in its first stages of testing. A new optical connection that is being setup for military and government usage tested a connection that rated its speed at almost 50gigs a second...They tested this connection and a file 4.2gigs large being sent from Nevada to Denmark was received in 1.4 seconds...Holy **** that is fast...Im trying to find the article and once i do i will post it

ummmm do you see the error in what your friend told you? 50 gigs a second ... but it took 1.4 seconds to transfer a 4.2 gig file .... hmmmmm....

anyways T1's are a billion times faster then these so called "high speed" connections..... then again OC-3 is even better

I wouldnt go that far...lol maybe 30-40 times faster than the average cable connection nowadays.. T1 is 1.54mbps/s average DSL is 250-400 k... or 4 pages per second, while T1 is about 28pages per second which if you do the math technically its only 7 times faster... But thats if the highspeed is living up to its claims which it never does... and T1 can handle more traffic and its dedicated so your speed never bogs down... T1 also cost 3gs just for equipment tho too..

yeah T1's are coming down in price... but they still are expensive...

split a OC3 connection???? are you crazy ??? get one just for yourself......

I just grabed a video clip off the www.soloontario.com site...

17.158 Mb... grabed it at a rate of 686 kilobytes/sec (how windows measures speed ) for a network speed of 5,588 Kilobits/sec (how everyone else measures speed) I love super fast connections to the net .... wish I could hog the bandwidth....
