when i used to play on the road, all the neighbours that were nice to me, got our respect, but those that always honked or yelled something when they drove by they got egged or got broken windows the day after.
kids are kids, if you are nice to kids, they are nice to you, ppl play around my house, and as long as i'm patient with them so that they can finish a play or see me to move, they are nice about it.
that lady is lucky she didn't run at me or my friends

hehe, on my street when we play, we sometimes get an audience. That means we gotta keep the swearing down and that but its fun. Even when we play football near a retirement home, we get an audience there too. Its fun

There are so many parking lots and open spaces in the city (ie. school yards, etc.) that kids shouldn't have to play street hockey on the street. When I was a kid we would play behind the school down the street from me. I agree with BB, the street is not the place for playing, regardless if its hockey, skateboarding, etc. An to those that argue that the parents feel safer with their kids in front of the house, well what if they get hit by a car? If the parents are that concerned, then why not go with the kids to a school yard or parking lot and keep an eye on them there, at least they won't get hit be a car there.
