Help!!!!
I just turned on my computer and now all my ".jpg" files are now ".vbs" files... and my ".mp3" files are also ".vbs"
And then something pops up saying:
"files that are required for windows to run properly have been replaced"
Then it says to insert the windows cd to replace the files
I did this but all my ".jpg"s and my ".mp3"s are still ".vbs"
I can rename the extensions but i have 20 gigs of mp3s!!
Help what should I do??
Thanks in advance

.vbs means visual basic i think here try this i though i could tell you to use (open with) you have to right click but im not sure if you can do that, but you can do this if you wanna play your songs if you have winamp, select all songs right click and click on enque in winamp....also if you can use the open with, search for winamp and if its works i think it will convert it back to mp3

UPDATE:
Its some virus that takes the file i.e.. "123.mp3" then makes another file "123.mp3.vbs" and hides the "123.mp3" so all you see when you open the folder is "123.mp3.vbs".
but it doesn’t just make it hidden. I tried to view all hidden files and there was nothing. I know that the original still exists because I opened my winamp playlist (before I got the virus) and the files played.
so "123.mp3" still exists but how can I make it visible????

That why I upgraded my version of WinAmp.........I hardly use it anyways...........I usualy use Musicmatch or MediaPlayer.
Don't worry about the 20 gigs........you can get that all back plus more in lesss than a week if you really wanted too.
Next time, do what I did......get a second HD in a removable sleeve......every once and a while........back it all up. Take it out when your not using it.........that way, you have a good HD with all your favorite stuff on it. Safer that way.
Or, just burn it to a CDR.
