Help!!!

Ok guys I need your help, there is something wrong with my dads car. I was driving it tonight and I pulled up to a stop sign, when I pressed the gas to go instead of the normal stock sound there was a loud grumbly sound. It feels very warm at the front of the car(under it). I dont know whats wrong but if someone could help me it would be much appreciated.

its an auto.......no slipping or anything. its just really loud and hot air seems to be leaking from around the cat.
