Have you checked to see if the fuse is blown? Inside the the part you put in the cig. socket...there is a fuse. (not inside the box itself, but the plug)......unscrew the "tip" and see if it is blown....use a Multi-meter to make sure......it might "look" ok, but the fuse might be gone near one of the ends, and you can't see it.:working:

the IT guy here at work tried to figure out the problem basically I fried the box part cuz the casing came loose from around the wires and the touched...poof cabooie! He tested it with a tester and tried to re attach the wires away from eachother....it's dead, but legacy can bring it tonite and you can have a go at it if you want! Thanks for you help!

Here is a link to ebay power adapters....try to find your notebook model...but really a power adapter is a power adapter when it comes to the IBM notebooks. I use my 600E power adapter with my two other work ones and they are not even close to being the same number.
