help with my laptop

Hey, I remember from my posting this summer that some guys here work at IBM.....well i need help if anyone is in IT. My computer a thinkpad 770 suddenly won't work. I did a stupid thing and left it in my car last night (only for about 45 minutes). Now the screen won't turn on, I can hear the computer start up and even the fan working like normal when it's been on for a while however it's been like 24 hrs and the screen still will not work!!! Any suggestions? anyone want to fix my computer on the side (IBM ppl).....any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks, Kari:cry:

If it's a laptop, you might have a function that allows you to switch between display modes (one for laptop screen, one for external monitor, one for both). That might be the only problem.

Do you have a key named "Fn" on your keyboard? It should be in the location labeled as 1 on the image I've posted.

The row of keys shown as 2 in that image are the keys you can press while pressing the Fn key. One of them probably switches between the display modes. It will have an icon on it that looks like a monitor or it may just show "LCD/CRT".

Take a look at the image included:

Also refer to this document (I know it's for a Thinkpad 380 but it may work): http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/support/thi.../monrom05.html
[window]www.pc.ibm.com/us/support/thinkpad/uguide/380/monrom05.html[/window]

If that doesn't solve the problem, I'm sure one of the computer guys on here can help you.

Hook up an external monitor off your home computer to see if it runs okay, then troubleshoot. And yeah, tell Legacy to get off you. Everyone know women like to be on top.
