it was 3 months after I graduated before getting a job ...

although they gave us way better job search skills about 2 1/2 months after we finished

now if only I had time to reapply those skills and look for another job

I was going to do RCC, had the guy come down a few times to talk with us about it. But I'm one of those 'typical' people that felt a degree would be better than a deploma.

Needless to say my point of view has changed. I'm in the middle of a computer science degree program. Then I'm doing Mechanical Engineering 5 yr program.

I have a pretty decent summer job, been doing it for 5 summer's in a row.

Computer Tech/Network Admin (assisstant to the head networking person) for an engineering firm.

like someone said get a trade, im juss startin my electrical apprenticeship and im not even signed on and makin 15 bucks an hour, you do hardly any work cus u have to learn, and then after your done your apprenticeship thats when you make great cash and your able to do side jobs. plus the goverment is estimating the lowest amount of tradesperson in 3 years time so meanin more jobs more money.

True about about the lack of tradespeople in the next few years.

I've been in the Millwright trade for 5 years. Passed my Certificate of Qualification this year. Fairly easy exam.

Millwrighting is a good job. Your not doing the same thing everyday. That is what I like about it the most. For those of you that don't know what a Millwright does, he/she is a Contruction/Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. "Jack of all trades"

on the old union system (that is still in place for the old folk) it was a raise every 3 months and after like 2 years you were at the top end of the scale.... I got screwed as one of the first in on that new system
