How do you guys work downtown?
#23
Been working downtown since '97, located at Front & Bay st...
beside Royal York Hotel - Royal Bank...
Right now front st is hectic with construction specially on Bay st as well...sometimes I drive if I miss my GO bus to work, other than that I do my time and get da heck outta dt!

You are right next to the rogers centre then?? or close to it? I was at 61 Front St (union station east end) for four years and it was great cuz i always took the subway down.
im still downtown but now on the GO...which is still convenient as i dont have to drive.

Just so happens they are doing roadwork this week too. Down to 1 lane on both sides as they rip up the road and pour in new concrete and ashphalt, lovely. As if traffic wasn't bad enough already.
Today the parking lot supervisor decides to jack up the prices to $20 for the day, just dandy.

Hey Simon, do you still have those fake handicapped stickers I can put on my windshield? I wouldn't mind borrowing your '92 Windstar with that lift on the back for the wheelchair...I would be able to park it anywhere. No tickets!!!

Oh the Joys
Friday I went back down there at 3pm, had to park, and tried the underground parking right beside 151 Front. Van was too tall to fit down there, so one of the parking guys said I could park off to the side where the lines were crossed. So I did that, paid $20 to park. Went to 151, guy wasnt there. Came back 15 min later to the van, and had to ask the security guard if he could block traffic so I could come back out the incoming lane, since my van was so tall that I coulnd't even fit back out the outbound lane....what a mess.
So for 20 min of parking I paid $20, nice

Zacktly.. If it was a regular office job I would be crazy not to take the GO
I have to use a dolly to carry all my tools because I hate doing more than 1 trip from the van to the site, its a royal PITA
