Any alcohol, not just listerine.

The alcohol is not processed by anything and goes directly into your blood stream which means you get drunk pretty much instantly.

head to your local departemtn store, pick up some ether... you'll likely find 99%..soak a rag and huff that ****

Alcohol straight into the blood is the best. A friend of mine has a few cognac pipes. You just bring the cognac up to touch your tongue and leave it there for a few minutes, then repeat. It has taken me over an hour to finish a cognac this way. You catch a pretty good buzz after about 20 minutes, but it goes away almost completely after another 20, and there is only about 2 ounces of cognac in this thing, plus it makes you feel like a diplomat.

you should never drink cognac with your goal as blackout!

that would be some ignorant ****.

maybe this sort of thing would assist me in avoiding my 'scotch nights' where my goals and my end results are two very different things

You can, in theory, put any liquid in the pipe, but I've only used cognac.
Its better suited for occasions where for a variety of reasons, you may not want to consume more then a couple ounces of 40% alcohol.

To stay on topic, this is what it might look like with blue Listerine in it.
