Hp Laptop = Sucks
I purchased my laptop for around 6 months, the video card broke down. One day, I woke up in the morning with a great sunny day. I turned my laptop on and it wouldn't get into windows, so I proceeded with a system restore and it didn't fix the problem at all, the screen appeared to have some random color lines showing up on the screen. I decided to bring it to Best buy for the warrenty. By the time I get to best buy, there was a man in the line in front of me with the same problem. The time for the mantainence had taken him more than 2 weeks, with a result that best buy never sent out the laptop for him. The man kept complaining about their service, best buy finally agreed to refund him the full amount of the purchases which was $16xx. One important thing is that he had been using the laptop for over a year already, I was shocked on how best buy deal with a complain from a customer. Excuse me? after a year still get a full refund? Anyways, cut the out of topic speech. So finally its my turn in the line, I told them about my problem and as usual, send back to HP to replace this and that. 2 weeks After, I called back to get the most updated status of my laptop. They told me because of the volume of laptops they are experencing, it might take serveral weeks. SIR!!! Its been 2 weeks and now you telling me that it might take another few weeks of time to replace the damn crap thing? As a conclusion, don't fuxxing get HP ****s, and also bringing it back to best buy for mantainece most likey take the longest *** fuxxing time... F!!!

sorry to hear, that really sucks, what does everyone else reccommend as best laptops. I have a Dell from 2 years ago now, its a POS, i will never buy another Dell after this laptop. This is because i bought a desktop from them right before. they shipped it, we set it up, after 2 weeks nothing worked, lights would go on the computer box but nothing on the computer screen or anything, they said to send it back, we do and they sent us a new one. I then buy my laptop thinking ah why not good customer service...was i wrong. Same thing basically happened, but they wanted me to open up the laptop and start ******* around with shat in there. I told them i have no experience in doing so and dont feel comfortable, they proceeded to send me another laptop and i lost all my stuff stored. I was beyond pissed, never again :@
who has had a good laptop experience? which brands are best and recommended?

any brand will have bad apples, its just a crap shoot really. Case in point, someone reccomended a BOSCH drill to me, I bought one and within month the chuck started to slip untill the point it would not drive in screws anymore. Sent it out and had the worst customer service ever.
Same goes for electronics. Some brands are better than others but you will not have a brand without any problems at all. My GF has a HP 17" laptop for over a year now ad it has run flawless even with Vista on it.

HP is garbage. My g/f labtop crashed 3 times. Same problem evertime. The only good thing is if it crashes 1 more time then she gets a new one from best buy. Never will buy HP again.

apple is overpriced for what you get. imo Sure they're nice, but compared to a regular laptop it's pricey. Also it's possible install OS(whatever now) on most laptops now. Heck there's a place in the states where you can buy an hp, asus, compaq, etc with/or ready to install apple os.
IMO right now ASUS and Sony are really good laptops. Now Vista on the other hand.

Apple have a great laptop, but they also carry a lot of hype also.

One thing that gets me is rating a laptop on OS problems. So many reviews I read about vista crashing and causing OS issues that have nothing to do with the laptop hardware at all. Put XP SP3 on there and it would be a diff story.
