On my 3rd Toshiba, just keep trading up and never had any problems. My buddy had an hp and it was always crapping out and their customer service was brutal apparently.

there seems to be no unanimous opinions about best laptops, but it seems the following can be agreed upon...

Vista sucks

and

apples are good (but expensive and hyped)

look for the apple vs pc laptop review and turns out apple beat it out in almost every way, so it seems the best bet is to buy a macbook and load windows on it if you want to go that route.

my old school dell dimension 8250 desktop is old and still works pretty well...it is time for an upgrade though...2.4ghz and 1GB of ram just aint cutting it like it did 5yrs ago

i have an HP laptop dv6000 and 2 HP desktops, on is a year old the other is about 5 years old now, none have ever had any problems. my mom has a dell laptop, it's been pretty good, but the battery died really quick, and the laptop is ugly as sin (2 yrs old). my brother had a compaq (HP's low end line) and it's over 8 years old, still going!! had a problem with the DVD drive, Compaq replaced it no problem.

i have an emachines desktop from 4 years ago which i still use today. Athlon 2.1 512ram 160Gb. good buy for me.

I got an HP laptop and love it.. no problems at all.. even with Vista. my gf has a macbook pro. I hate it lol... apple is not as practical as microsoft... (apple in general i got an ipod.. i ****in hate itunes).. i kno yall gonna hate me but thats my opinion and i truly believe that...apple sucks those first commercials i thought favoured windows btw (how about i calculate how much time you just wasted)

try Yamipod or Sharepod. I hate itunes as well and use these apps to transfer my files, thats about all I need the program to do for me

GUESS WHAT PEOPLE!
I got my laptop back on Sept 29.
Yesterday! THE HARDDRIVE STOPPED WORKING!
I spent 4 days to restore everything from my backup and installed/updated all necessary programs....
and now this happens~
**** HP! **** HP!!!!!!!!!!

i've said it before, i'll say it again.

the problems with laptops everyone is experiencing.. are most likely related to what's in between the screen and the chair.
