I mean, whats the point of putting ur money in there if ur only going to spend it in less then a month or two? If ur not putting ur money in for saving, its stupid. You get no interest, u have to pay to take your money out if you don't go to a branch and they tell YOU how much you can take out. Sorry I don't feel like giving the bank money for holding on to MY money. I have my own 'bank' at home that doesn't cost me a thing If I didn't get paid from my job through my bank, I would never use it!

If you can't prove that you put the money in, I don't think ur going to get anything back....I dunno though, I'm just guessing.

or what, you gonna say some bad words to them, cause that about all you can do.
i'd say switch banks or atleast set up a whole new account with TD and then say goodbye to the money that was supposedly in the envelope cause you'll never see it again

it was an old scam.. clone your card, have someone clean out your account.. then when reimbursed go 50/50. doing that was a 2 month process, so I think there's hope in getting your $$ back.

running that scam is the same as downloading copyrighted material. you're robbing the robber.

imagine you trusted me with $1000 of your heard earned money to hold on to until you needed it. how would you feel if I lent that money out to someone and collected interest on it. you trusted me with your money and I made money off you..? right or wrong is questionable, but thats what makes a market economy work.

we need to go back to the days of gold.

I agree with what your saying, but there is a level convenience the banks provide, instead of having to run home for some cash everytime you want to buy something.

If your interesed in some long term savings, beat the banks (and thier poor interest rates), and invest in them, they show steady profits usually, and are a solid investment.

Anyways, back to B18C's problem, keep pressing the issue with the bank, but make sure you do it in calm, professional fashion, agression won't help here (I recognize that you are venting now). My parents deal with TD and they have had a few problems similiar to this, often the problem is the people at the lower levels are either not high enough or don't care. If they can't resolve the issue keep going above thier head, call the people downtown. Keep on them, don't let them get away with it....good luck...

man this happened to me about 2 months ago.. and im with td also
someone put in a blank envelope for 1500.00 and then withdrew 200.00. luckily that was my daily atm withdrawl limit or else they could have cleaned me out. to make things worse this was the day of my g test and their computers were down so i could only pay cash and i had none and couldnt take any out of my account.. I first went to the nearest branch they told me what happened and they gave me a cash advance to pay for my g test. then i went back and they gave me a new card reset passwords and made me fill out a form. to the point i got my money back my 200.00 bucks and it only took like 3 days to get it all back.

all banks are *****, go with PC as they have no fees and will start you off with the first 500 as your allowance on any deposit.

jus put your money in, and then take it out right away.
abuse the system as much as possible b'cos they dun give a **** about you until you show them 5 digit balances.

but on a side note, TD customer service is the worst i've ever experienced.

bottom line is that banks are a huge rip off that the gov't should be controlling more closely. They charge us up the ace with fees for using the bank when we really have no other choices. It's freakin robbery and thats that!
