if you could be ~est at something
ie.
healthiest
oldest
coolest
sexiest
smartest
richest
etc....
you had ONE thing to pick from to be for the rest of your life... you could be the richest person in the world... sexiest in the world... etc.
what would that be????
use your imagination.
I chose happiest! Rich or poor, single or married, blind, deaf or dumb... I would still be the happiest person in the world... and that sounds pretty good to me.

I may have to ponder on this one...does "~est" imply 'above all others'?

yes, you would be above all others in whatever you choose. like if you were the sexiest, anyone that saw you would unversally think you are absolutely stunning, almost too much to look at directly.
in my case, being the happiest... I would be blissfully happy no matter what... I could be burning alive and I'd still be blissfully happy.
if you were the richest... no matter how rich the rest of the world was, you could prolly buy a mid-sized european country using only 1/4 of your fortune... also no matter how poor the world was, you'd still have hella money...
so we're not talking marginally better.... we're talking leaps and bounds above status quo.

At this moment I think I would choose that. Here's the definition: "Bearing or enduring difficulty, provocation, or annoyance with calmness. Tolerant; understanding; persevering; constant. Capable of calmly awaiting an outcome or result; not hasty or impulsive." I think this would cover all the bases you mentioned...perhaps not the "~est" of each, but each in good measure. Here's my reasoning:
- "A calm heart is the life of the fleshly organism", so an ancient proverb states. So there would be good health.
- Unless you hang around with 15-year-olds, does anyone want to be the oldest? No smart remarks, stevil...
- The cool person is one who can be patient and tolerate provocation or annoyance...swatting it aside like a fly. And just say, "meh, whatever..."
- A patient, waiting, accommodating woman can be a sexy thing. This does not rule out creativity. I'll leave it at that.
- The calm person is more capable of making rational decisions, as opposed to the impulsive one. The smart factor.
- Patience helps avoid impulse purchases, wasting money, etc...it will add to the savings account. Maybe not make for the richest, but certainly, not the poorest.
The above statements may change...but that's how it stands right now. Apologies for the length, it was an in-depth question. Hope you stayed patient and calm.

Ahhh very well thought out!! Awesome quality for someone to have. Well suited for a maternal figure (someone who cares and nurtures those around her which seems to suit your existing personality).

sorry shazza, we can't both be the happiest people on earth... unless you live on the moon?
you'll have to pick another one.
