Keep it up. You'll wind up like me. No OSSD, no future, low paying job, fucked up credit. But don't worry, sleeping in and missing tests for the next month will be well worth all that.

If you smoke a lot of ... green, it makes you unmotivated and that may be causing you not to give a crap. Otherwise, you are just lazy or you could be depressed

But then again, I know some ppl that smoke every day and kick *** in everything and have awesome motivation.

i agree with this, i have lots of friends that lose motivation b/c they smoke too much

me on the other hand, while in school i smoke every day and am still doing fine - just finished my 3rd year of actuarial science

i agree aswell that it could partially maybe be depression, or maybe lack of direction
in my second year of university i lost all motivation for school, mainly b/c i just felt like i was in school for the sake of being in school (and to make my parents happy) w/ no real direction or purpose, and i wasn't there for the right reasons
i took a year off last year and went back this past fall and that was the best decision i've ever made
the year off made me realize that i really wanted to finish school so that i could get a better/higher paying job and it gave me some time to decide what i wanted to do with myself when i'm done. i went back this past september w/ a great attitude and more motivation for school

*sorry this was so long*

SweetCivicGurl...hows the program? Are you taking it at UofT?
I applied for Actuarial Science, but haven't yet received an acceptance. I doubt I'll go for it though.

I love math, finite was great...but I prefer business.

Labatia, man, SUCK IT UP. WTF is wrong with you, you need a kick in the nuts to wake the F*** up! One month left, and you can't pull yourself together??? WTF is wrong with you?? Man, just look at it this way..you have ONE month left! Not ONE year, not one semester, but one F***ing MONTH!!! Wake up dude, finish off the year with flying colours and move on. Slacking off for one month of your life can end up costing you dozens of years later on. Just read dm101081's post. (No offence to you, dm101081 but you gave the perfect example of one of the worst case scenarios)
ONE MONTH MAN! SUck it up! Count down the days.

i was in that situation

i just got accepted in university, and im really contemplating if i should continue in college, or take the leap to university

if i do go to university, i'll be able to own a skyline, but i will be giving up Canada for that matter

..............................decisions are hard

G'luck!

No offense taken. I am a perfect example of what can happen. I'm 1 credit away from my OSSD. Just need 1 more english. I was done the english credit, except for the exam, and ISU presentaion, and I missed both. They kicked me out, and now I have no diploma. Sure, I could go back, but I need to work to support myself, and can't handle night school right now.

I've been going to Western, but have applied to transfer to UofT for the fall
Western is a great school, and I've had tons of fun there, but the program isn't so great and not nearly as recognized as UofT.
Ac Sci is a tough program, but very much worth it in the end. There are tons of jobs out there for actuaries w/ the opportunity to make lots of $$$

You're the only one that can help yourself. Since you've already realized the problem, it's your job to fix it. Just think of what will happen if you don't. That's probably more than enough motivation for you.

I don't think you should waste your time in university or college if you're not going to try. For sure try your best to finish highschool and graduate, but please, get your act together before heading off to a post-secondary education. Don't waste your time there if you're not gonna try and succeed. That's just my two cents.

Trust me on this...Dont go to University/College for anyone but yourself and DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY...think of the money you may waste going to UNI/COLLEGE, even if its your parents money...thats money they worked hard for and they expect you to do well...so think it over long and hard b4 making any critical decisions and dont let friends influence your decisions.

Defenitely!
Well said 1SicCiv

But man, like I said before, suck it up and finish school. It's the least you can do. It will be the starting point for the rest of your life. 1 month, finish it off, then decide on what you're going to do!
