I am the same way All my teachers say I have potential but I always **** around in class and dont pay attention. When I do pay attention and not **** around, I get like 80-90's. When I do, I get 60-70's

As for the smoking thingy, I have never smoked, never tried smoking, and I dont think I ever will, I personally think its like rolling up a 5 dollar bill and puffing it rather than saving that $5 per week and saving up for something usefull. (i know its around $8 now) Oh yeah, that is the same with "green" as well.

All my teachers say that I am the laziest kid with the brightest mind they have ever seen. All I can do is laugh because it is so true ! My parents are getting pissed off at me because I am so LAZY. I cant get rid of my laziness ! How can I get rid of it ? Like, I always play sports and **** like that, but when it comes to homework, I NEVER do it. I always do all my assignments and **** like that but actual homework, I never do. I can actually say I haven't studied for a test since grade 6-7. I know its bad, but I want to change.

I am not a follower or any **** like that either. If I tried, I could be getting 80-90 but I am not and I'm suffering with high 60 and low 70's Any suggestions for me ?

i'm so lazy when it comes to studying too. i have no idea how i managed to make it thru 4 yrs of university like this.

IMO, get rid of your laziness BEFORE you go to university/college. cuz by then it's probably too late and u'll never get rid of it.

labatia...everyone has a slump I dropped for an 80 plus average to a 55 average in college then I fought my way back ...

remember your only there to get a piece of paper... after that it's all about how you present yourself as to whether or not you succeed

If you're feeling like this then you're in the wrong program. If I were you I would just finish it off like the others said, so it looks good on paper.. Remember colleges and universities don't care about you they only care about your money.

I am such a pessimist about school.

Highschool was boring (80's average while missing 50% of the school year)- I dropped out with only 18 credits

College was a waste of money(I went as a mature student) - Accounting Diploma got me no where in a hurry even with a 4.0 GPA.

All the success I've had in life is from life experience, socializing and networking skills.

However, in current my field, letters after your name mean something, so I am currently studying the CGA program, and contemplating CPA when completed. I am an Associate Member in the CFI, planning to write the exam in the fall, and then completing the U.S. equivalent CFE. I am working towards a degree (neccessary to become a CGA), and may do a Masters after that. All said and done I will be in school for another 10-15 years while working.

My point to you is that whatever you choose in life, the door never closes, just takes longer to push open. The school option will always be there, and you may be more prepared for it later.

ElectronBlue .. all those letters went right over my head ... but your so right getting a job is about who you know and how well you can convince them to take a chance on you...

my last 6 months in school were the best I spent between 10 and 18 hours playing starcraft for 6 months straight ...never got bored of that game

Reference points for previous post:

CGA = Certified General Accountant (Canadian)
CPA - Certified Professional Accountant (U.S.)
CFI = Certified Forensics Investigator (Canadian)
CFE - Certified Fraud Examiner (U.S.)

I want to be able to work on both sides of the border.

CA = Chartered Accountant

With the passing of Bill 213 in November 2002, CA, CGA, CMA all are recognized designations of which any can pass an exam and become a Public Accountant or Auditor. Prior to Bill 213 only CA had the ability to become a recognized Public Accountant or Auditor.

I guess all the firms that went down with the Corporate scandals of doctoring numbers forced this Bill to pass.

However I do not wish to work in Public Accounting nor do I want to Audit for the government, I am currently working in the field of forensic accounting and I love the work. No trial balances, no posting, no preparation of financial reports. I just dissect the financial records kept by a company.

I agree, you have one month left, buckle up and finish it.... you've been in for so long it would be a pure waste of your time and money if you don't finish it to the best of your abilities...

it's all about the letters behind your name!! it's what makes the world go round, when your business card has as many letters after your name as your name does, then you're makin the big bucks without even trying!

Buddy,
buckle down and finish i suffer from the same problem I just finished my second year in nursing and i blew half my exams cuz I was soooo burnt out from the heavy workload and from working on the side. My best advice is just make a list started checking it off and make sure u do the stuff. Finish the program out as well as you can because you have already spent what like almost two years in it. Get a new alarm clock or have like 3 (me I have the bf call me in the morning, an alarm clock, and an alarm on my cell) try changing alarm clocks with another family member the new noise might just wake u up. One more thing, make sure you are getting enough sleep because that may be the problem you are trying to get up after 5 hours all the time and your body just can't handle it. keep motivated! We're all behind you!
