Last hope: Disassemble the phone as much as you feel comfortable & bury the pieces spaced slightly apart in a large bowl filled with dry, uncooked rice for several hours.

u might still be able to get ur contacts off the phone if u have another phone to transfer it too or a memory stick.

(i work for bell) we have a machine called cellebrite that does it. The phone has to turn on and stay at the main screen.

PS: Why are u on prepaid?!?!? ($50 card?)

i heard if you turn your phone off and then go for swim, even if its in your pocket nothing will happened it will just turn back on and will work perfectly fine. a friend of a friend of a friend told me this. i never tried it so i dont know how true is this.

ok no lie, ur firend of a friend of that friend may be right because my fone was about to die and this girl was suppose to call me, so i said let me just turn my fone off and save some battery, and then i went swimming and everything works perfectly fine...

turning the phone off will prevent damage or if you get it wet dont turn it back on until its fully dry...turning on a wet electrical item will cause shorts on the PCB among other things

so, if your phone goes for a swim follow these steps for best results

1. get the fock out of the water
2. remove battery
3. take as much of the phone apart as possible
3a. if salt water is the culprit you are gonna really wann get that phone completely apart FAST
4. with phone apart use some rubbing alcohol on the PCB and connectors to promote fast drying.
5. DRY THAT BITCH!!!
5a. uncooked rice, silica gel packs, a nice hot window sill etc will dry out the phone components nicely
6. no until that phone is 100% dry should you attempt to turn it back on/plug it in etc

this is generally a 2 day process and yields the best results.

or just get this **** done
