I JUST SPILLED A GLASS OF WATER ALL OVER MY LAPTOP KEYBOARD!! AND ITS BRAND SPANKIN NEW!!

BTW. is this gonna screw anything up?. I shut it off right away and took the battery out and tipped it on its side and poured the water out.

It seems to be working fine now. but. Damnit. I'm a MORON!

YOu are a moron and we knew that before you spilled the water. :P. As for the keyboard you will have to let it dry completely before you will know about any damage.

I would suggest keeping the laptop off until all components are completely dry. I hope you have some type of accident damage warranty just in case.

i heard a good tip just today from a software engineer about what to do if you get your laptop wet

you turn your oven on to like 150 degrees celcius, when it's done heating up you turn the oven off, put some cardboard on the rack and put your laptop ontop of the cardboard, that will force ALL of the water to evaporate, but it's not hot enough to burn anything...

and for the future, if you can't handle a glass of water around your laptop don't bring any liquid around it! lol

on the downside when a laptop gets wet the first thing to go is usually the keyboard because the water messes with the key's contacts... but it seems like everythings ok so you should be fine...

Don't want to scare you but about six months ago my friend spilled milk on his keyboard in the lunch room at work and it screwed it up. It worked a bit at first and then not at all within a few minutes. He had to replace the keyboard.

Relax, as long as it is water - and nothing else ie: pop or alcohol you are golden. Flip it upside down for 24 hours.
