SOME engine mods. haha but his car is not bad compared to other rice rockets. did anyone notice a white car in the upper level? i think it was a tiburon or something but the body kit looked like it was glued on literally. i almost puked when i saw it. the show wasn't that great. i hated all the probes and cavacraps that were at the show. some cars were just like...wtf?! like the black s2k for example with the red lights. i saw it from behind and was like damn nice s! then i saw the front and was like wttttttfffff. there was also a really done up EF hatch that looked like **** too. meh whatever floats people's boat.

It must have cleared their requirements to be there right? Also, booth vehicles did not need to have anything done to them if they were not competing.
I'll admit, I'm suprised I got in....but hey, I got two wristbands, and a bunch of free **** and a place to take a nap when I was tired.

anybody can get into a car show in canada...all you have to do is register and pay and you are in...

hot import nights in the u.s. is a different story though...they review your car and decide whether to accept or reject your car...

don't count on it...you have the hardest class...92-95 civic hb class is the hardest class to place in by far cuz there are so damn many and a lot of them are done to that ****...

I'm just curious....did you register/apply for Importfest? If you did, you would know that Importfest DOES screen their cars. You need a minimum of 5 Mods. Mine had Skirt kit (although it's OEM..it's still a kit and I wouldn't change it...it suits my car nicely), Custom interior, neons, vynil graphic, sound system and rims. I actualy had to borrow the rims cuz they wouldn't let me in without them. So based on the fact that they weren't going to let me in.....then not "anybody can get into a car show in canada". There are requirements. Granted, they may not be large, but they're still there.
Anyways, like I said, I'm not sure if you knew about the "screening" of Importfest or not. I just wanted to make it clear that it IS done.
As far as HIN goes.....ya...I'm sure they have a stricter screening process.....so if you want to see a high end show like that...travel down to the states. Personaly...I don't want to drive that far.

TCC CRUISE !!! that would be actually pretty awsome. pick one in cali or florida and go down for a week or something...

but yea, i will admit, it was bad how some of the cars looked like they were done in the drive-way at 4 in the morning, but there was some nice cars. especially the crx with that crazy paint job. I would never do that, but its cool to see something like that once in a while.

People like different stuffs. A car with air brush paint might mean something to one person, but totally opposite to another. It is futile to argue which country has the best show(s) or whatnot. Accept the fact that you live in this one and if this is the best that this area or provenice can offer, then so be it.

I am not a car show judge, nor am I the organizer. If I pay money to see it, then it is my choice and I am fully aware that whether or not the show offers the type of cars I personally like, I am fully responsible for spending that money based on my own decision.

Different types of shows attracts different types of crowds. If you have been to the previous Importfest, then you should be aware of that what type of car(s) you will see in it. There is a orange colour 6th gen coupe from this year's picture, and I saw this car 3 years ago. If the "Neon lights" is one of the criteria on the application form, then it should give you some general idea of where this show is heading towards.

It is like a straight man walking to a gay bar. It offers the same sports TV, pool table, food, drinks, but not the type of crowd you wish to meet. If it doesn't interest you, don't go. If you go, at least appreciate and respect their world.

Having the ability to put together a well built engine is just as hard as air brush an entire car. Both takes skills and years of hard work.

Go to a VW show like H20 International and Waterfest and then you'll see how show cars should look. Tons of mods but very subtle looking. Example here is my buddies car has close to 20 grand worth of stuff done to it but looking at it with the untrained eye it's just got nice rims on it. In the Euro market the car gets so much respect it's not even funny.

everybody bitching here is a *** I swear...you all have the same econoboxes and buy the same crap and goto the same shows...take it or leave it...a honda will never ever have the same classy look a eurobox will have EVER why? cuz everybody buys into the "ugly" stuff for japboxes...and if u leave a japbox "stock" lookin then thats all it will ever look...STOCK...everybody and I mean everybody should know by now this is what the "honda tuner" world looks like unless u just came here from a place that doesnt have cars...jdm/rice/stock whatever same ****, different pile

there are a handfull of respectable people on this site that all get along no matter what modifying route they go but the rest are just whiney bitches

HIN, NOPI, etc all have the same **** importfest has...some of you have to grow the *** up...yall pay money for a show damn well knowing whats gonna be there and then complain about it...thats like orderin a plate of crap and then complaining it tastes like ****...if u dont like crap, dont order it...simple!! but I guess some people like to eat crap and then there are others that dont...

I got tired of the nonsense that this "import scene" was full of so I hung up my kimono and got a suit and drive a car that I dont need to do anything to...but to be honest, I do miss my hatch, it was clean and mean and people liked it

anyways...carry on if u must complaining like little babies

cheers!
