Importfest Downsview Bahamas Trip

hey, i was importfest saturday with the g/f, and when u walk in there was stands 2 fill out a raffle to win a trip for 2 to the bahamas/orlando florida bla bla bla, so i filled it out with no intentions at all...well today i got a call in the morning and didnt pick up, so at lunch time i got another 1, it was from the bahamas importfest trip thing, he said i won....should i be cautious with this? or is it legit? he said everythings paid for its a $2800 packedge and that hte only thing i would have to pay for is the border fees for leaving and entering the country like when u go to cuba, dominican etc....

should i go along with it? or **** it and let it go?

Why not, go for it. As long as you are not paying any other hidden fees.

haha...i got into something similar like 5 years ago....wait till they call you at their office to let you know this is one of those time share vacation schemes. you buy a lifelong vac plan and pay through installments for a long time.

plus the trip you are talking about is for you to win....its a raffle....and you wont win so dont bother.

crap

find out more baout it, see how muich it comes to, worth a try, dont brush it off as nothing, some people think everything is too good to be true, and when a good thing comes they brush it off as nothing and thats why nothing ever good happens to them!!

x 2

you loose nothing researching it to your fullest. If it turns out to be whack, walk away, no harm gone.

who is the vacation from?

normally "real" give-aways" advertise their name like crazy. Just so you know you got the vacation from Nestle or Dell.

If theres no company attached to the give away i'd be cautious

there is something called 'learning from other people's experience'. when a particular type of scheme is old and alot of ppl have gone through it already only to be disappointed, i would listen and save my time instead of wasting it.

You still have to pay, you didn't 'win' a free vacation.

I've received calls from them numerous times over the years.

When they called last time, and told me I 'won' a trip, I right away jumped in and said...
"Sweet, a free trip, all expenses paid including flight, awesome I can't wait, where can I pick up the tickets?"

Then she started telling me about how it's not exactly 'free' and I said no thanks and hung up.

I worked for 5 days at a call centre that called people for those things -- You have to pay your own flight plus getting on the boat fees. If there are multiple trips included you have to use them in a certain order. Some are for 1 or 2 people only and if you bring anyone else they are full price.

Go to ripoffreport.com and type in the company name - you should get the info you are looking for -- I worked for Teleglobe Call Center -- S C A M ! It was a Brampton call center saying that they work for Ramada Plaza Resorts and everyone in their was told to say they are the Promotions Directors ...

They will give it to anyone who falls for it! The base their selections on people who make a certain amount of money a year, their family status and their age range!

i won before, then the guy was like, if you don't give me your credit card info now, the deal will go onto the next person. then i'm like "*** that... i don't have a credit card... have a good life", then the guy just hung up on me w/o saying anything... super rude... that guy probably lost his commission or something

Yup, it is $10 an hour job plus insane commissions when you make a 'reservation'

They have an answer or what they call a 'rebuttal' for everything, don't want to give a card number, too good to be true, i don't want to, can't afford it etc.

There is a 10 or more page script at every desk!
