individual
hi im steve, im an individual. i am different from everyone. i have fear, uncertainty, loneliness, guilt and a host of other unique feelings. i am the only one in the world that can identify with these emotions.
isnt that the way people often think of themselves? why is it so hard to show compassion, love, togetherness and all the other good stuff? why is weakness and frailty frowned upon? i guess i get tired of watching people get off on selfcentredness, power and hate. the first statement could be made by most people but we dont like to admit it. im just sick of seeing people feeling so isolated but really they are feeling the same as everyone else.
just ranting, maybe being sick has changed my out look on life.
i just hate the state of my world, hasnt something got to give soon?

well if you showed fear and uncertainty people will take advantage of you IMO. But the truth of it is, everybody feels these emotions at one point. Its strange how certain things in life can change the way you look at life and people.

Happens all the time. And I am sure most of us feel the same way. Notice how your out look changes when you go to a funeral for a family member or friend. You get in your mind things you are going to do, people you will keep in touch with that you see at the funeral, or people you mean to contact. The intention is good, but it starts to fade away as you get back into your daily routine of life, until the next funeral.
I can understand your feeling Steve as I see it from the other side with my wife's ailments that she has. But she makes the best of it that she can, and goes through her day as normal as possible.
Believe me, I wear my emotions everyday. I really don't care what people think. I am who I am. And you are right, people think they are the only one's feeling the way they do, but they are not.

Everyone has feelings and emotions. Unfortunetly our society has developed to a point where we are intelligent enough to play on those and take advantage of them. And survival and defence are far more basic and intrinsic instincts that emotions, and they come first. I think that is why we hide our emotions and feelings.. Simply for self-protection.

brian i dont know. i dont like that we vote someone in and then have no voice towards what they do. i dont like that poiticians have no accountability for thier actions. it goes on and on. i think if politicians cant close the deal on 60% of thier campagn promises they shouldnt get in again.

Sometimes it doesn't take a lot to say to a lot.
you're parents aren't the only ones who made this world. humanity as a whole. I think of us as animals, and specifically as the most vile and vicious animal on earth.
man is the beast.
no other species kills, maims, and hurts for fun such as we do collectively. no other life forms destroys its environment with the lack of care as we do.
i have no faith in humanity.
i think 90% of people equal ****.
however, the simplest joys of life overpower all the negatives.
all the hard work you'll go through to put a smile on someone's face is worth it, is it not?
just to be able to sit on a rock and take a deep breathe. or look at an innocent baby smile and laugh.
Now I'm getting gay. Sorry for the lapse.
What's the point of life? I don't know. No one can tell you. No one can begin to try and explain to you (realistically at least)
All you can do as an individual is come to terms with reality however you see it, and do what you believe is right.
weakness being frowned upon is part of the natural order of things. Break life down. Kill, feed, mate, repeat. (2nd slipknot reference in this post, haha). What more do we do?
In the end, does any of this matter?
Take a look at the "Primitive society" of the eskimos before the canadian gov't took away their way of life and put them in homeless shelters. a person born with a disability would be cared for. the person would not be expected to work as much as the others, but would still be cared for and respected, regardless of the hardships they had to endure.
compare that with how modern "civilized" society b.tches and complains about handicapped parking spots at the front of the mall and them having to walk 2 minutes because of it.
why are we like this? i dunno.
our society is so large and complex that we're all becomming alienated from what it is to be human. We forget life's pleasures in exchange for the belief that money buys happniess. What is the point of working 60 hours a day to have a boat and send your kids to a private school if in return they lose a parent who will be there for them? which one enhances more your lives?
i don't have any answers.
much like you, i only have questions.
it is in times of need we search the most..

try not to fret too much about politics.
i just assume they are lying garbage.
if they weren't good liars, they wouldn't have gotten to the top of their political party. (george dubyeh is the exception)
i have a contact in one of the parties... take a good look at all of them.. notice how all hte regionals are ethnic people.. yet the people at the top are white? this isn't by accident. the ethic people will get the votes in their areas.. but the white guys still run things.
we don't have any parties that i can identify with. bleeding heart losers who don't have any priorities straight... or bible thumping morons with priorities straight.. they look at things very differently than I do though...
unless you're willing to be involved in a revolution.. i would think it's useless to be bothered.. the way i look at the gov't is that I live under badly organized crime. my taxes are my protection fees. my healthcare, education, etc are perks of being part of the mob. i don't believe in democracy. if i have enough of this particular organization, it is always within my physical ability to move onto the turf of some other gang.
if you want to change things, you have to be willing to risk it all and give it all..

Steve, I am with you about the government, Bruce, Michelle and I had lunch one day and had a short discussion on it. Yes it needs to be changed and drastically. I am with you as I don't think my vote will go to the better party because in the end, they all pretty much do the same. Lie! What can we do? I don't have the answer, but like Bruce said, we need to start another radical party that will shake things up.
We can discuss more on Saturday if you want, but you aren't alone in how you feel.

I think about the goodness of all people, and work from there. There is really no need to be defensive at first, someone has to open up and if it ain't the other guy, then I will be glad to do so.
If I had to go tomorrow, today will be just the same as any other day.
Who gets all my car parts? :P

if a bunch of idiots don't take you seriously cause you're blue, give them a reason to realize their mistake. do something with yourself, excel in it, and you will be given the opportunity. sitting around and crying cause you don't think you are on equal footing with everyone else is a waste of time.
if i thought blue people were garbage, and all they did was complain and want special treatment i would continue to think they were garbage.
look at all the immigrants who have come here and made something of themselves. the blues can do it to.
blue meaning any specific group.. gender, race, whatever.
steve, why are you looking to sign up? you should be looking for your cause and the best action for it. Not a group to join and help.
You are an individual. You have your own goals, as all of us do.
Don't follow.
Lead.
