I agree with several above posts. The iPhone does get old after a while. Also, the battery isn't that great even after a full charge. Especially if you play games or watch movies, that will drain the battery very quick. The blackberry doesn't have that many apps like the iphone, but then again, who really needs all those apps? I have the necesity apps on my bb and love it no matter what. If I would've went back in time, I would stick with my bb and buy a itouch.

Drop an iphone in the water and see if it works.
I fell in the water with my pearl (I'm typing on it right now) last summer. It got completely soaked. After drying it up it works perfect. Good luck with and iphone.
Imo BB is better, but I just hate apple so...that may have something to do with it. Lol

I currently like my 9700, the iphone may have the same apps i have now and more but the ones i have on BB are the necessity ones....

Since i work at futureshop we have a employee Product Exchange Plan(PEP) which enables us to switch out our phone literally every month if we want to, and it only cost me $6.78 for the 3 years i have my contract for, so as soon as the new iphone releases, im going to get it asap and be one of the first to have it

and hey, if it get a newer version, i just switch it out

i owned an iphone for nearly a year, then sold it only because i needed the money and wanted to try an android phone. I used it all winter and has absolutely no issues with it, and i live in sudbury which is a lot colder than toronto. It was jailbroken for 99% of the time that i owned it and i loved every minute of it. I hate bb's. The ONLY good thing about the bb is bb messenger..and that its universal. people that own blackberrys try to say that its free, but its not, its included in your 15$ monthly bb fee. Everything else is better on the iphone...except the fact that its made out of glass so you do have to be careful with it.

Why do you hate bb's? Did they do something against you? no one said bb messenger was free. You must have a data plan or some sort of "social networking" (as bell likes to call it) plan for it to work. And there is no such thing as a "bb fee". IMO, if you have a smart phone (bb, iphone, android, nokia e-series, etc) there is no point of having that phone if you don't have a data plan with it, no matter how small. Free or private internet isn't available everywhere, and it's so nice to have internet on the 401 or wherever else in the country. Btw, according to rogers, data is available across the country with no extra charges. So, if you live in Toronto, but visit Montreal over the weekend, you won't pay extra by using data, only phone calls or text messages, unless you have a plan for long distance. Pretty neat if you ask me.

No, the front is made of glass, like where you touch the screen with your finger. And it's alot more sturdy than people say it is. When i had my iphone, i dropped it on snow, in puddles (not big), on curbs, sidewalks. And yes, i did get scratches, but the glass never broke on me. I say that the back side of the iphone 3g (and s; the plastic) is a lot more weaker than the glass. I didn't have my iphone 1g for long so i cant remember how strong it is.

i apologize, i didnt mean people here were saying bbm is free, what i ment was all my friends that have it say that its free. They try to convince me that their saving money by using BBM instead of texting. "I get to talk to everyone with a blackberry for free!" its not free...theres the 15$ monthly blackberry 'email' fee. I agree if you have a smart phone you should always have a data plan. Im well aware the front of the iphone is glass and the back is plastic...i owned one for almost a year, and jail broke 10 of them as well as several ipod touch's. The back of my iphone had so many spider cracks its ridiculous. Although the glass is scratch resistant...it takes on scratches quite easily and ive seen a lot of em with broken screens.

no need to be sorry. I've heard many people say that the bbm is "free" as well, but those people are uneducated or get their phone bill payed by parents. I had a screen protector on mine since day 1 so I never experienced a scratch on the glass part when I had my iphone, but I totally agree with you. The plastic back cover and the chrome side things are so easily scratchable, I hate it! When I got my bb, I ordered a body guard total body protector so I won't make the same mistake as I did with my iphone. And for some reason, it sticks a lot better to the bb than it did to the iphone. Maybe the brands do differ? I bought the total body protector for my bb from body guardz or body shields. And I bought the invisible shield one from shazz or shagg or whatver that other company is called, the $25 protection. As for broken screens, I've seen aftermarket ones go for as low as $5-$10.

Simply put...

Iphone = multimedia device

Blackberry = communications device.

On paper and functionality the iphone kicks blackberry's ***! Playing around with the iphone u will love it at first but eventually you grow tired of it. My main issue with the iphone is the touch keyboard. After using a blackberry for 5 years it just annoys me to use the iphone keyboard.

Its like comparing a bmw to a civic. The iphone has all these crazy features, but the main question is how often are you going to use these features. Possibly once in your life to be able to say, "ya, my phone can do this." Also its kinda like using there idrive system. Would u rather deal with putting the car in drive and start driving or have to deal with selecting drive thru a very technological system.

Bottom line, your choice... If your a techi ur gonna love the iphone more. I personally love the simplicity and functionality of the blackberry more. (Keep in mind, the blackberry could do most of the stuff the iphone can, its just harder to do it.)

The only thing I would request is that you stay away from the blackberry storm and storm 2.

PS: apple is coming out with a new device soon.

Agree

However , blackberry's are easier to use if you want to send messages.

I still think the iphone is a lot better, the apps do really make a difference

I guess if you're happy with carrier approved smartphone functionality, iphones or BB's are fine for you.

If you want built in VOIP, Flash, two way Skype video calling, or free navigation without using data you're going to need a Nokia.

I like the iphone, its smooth, easy to use, great for watching movies, playing games, just overall a nice design etc etc… however, I become handicap when trying to type a text or email on it and I find the battery dies a lot faster than a blackberry but I think that’s only because there are more games and stuff for the iphone so people tend to play with it more or maybe it’s just cause the phone sucks.

Anyways, blackberry > ifail any day

BB has the ability to copy phone numbers to the sim card, ifail cannot
BB is ready to go out of the box, ifail cannot, you have to connect it to itunes
BB is easier to view word, excel, powerpoint
BB is more Microsoft friendly, ifail only has a ripoff version of msn
BB is female friendly, you cannot type on ifail with nails
BB is easier to reboot the phone
BB has fewer software upgrades
BB has an introduction walk through when you first turn on the phone
BB has a LED light to notify you when you miss a call, text, email etc.
BB has a camera flas
BB is WAY more durable

Best part of a BB, it has expandable memory

And overall the BB is just cool

I think it all comes down to user preference.... as for ping..... its all about whatsapp ftw

The battery life does suck on iphone.. but its a big screen.. so its kind of expected, fact is.... until BB can be cracked in the similar manner where you can get paid apps for free... iphone is the clear winner.... the camera on iphone is clearer, has better functions when an app has been downloaded
overall iphone wipes the bb..... as long as its cracked if its not.. its useless like a blackberry.....

as for comparing.. the two..... in the words of apple.... "there's an app for that"
