Also, RIM's primary market segment is corporate users, the iPhones is definitly NOT (look at its distribution channels, selling features, etc)...success for RIM is not success for Apple, and vice versa...

Don't you think it's a little easier for Apple to tap into a consumer market especially when they already have so many fans to begin with?
They made a smarter move by not trying to compete with RIM because they would fail as a business device and there's no way all these different companies with BlackBerry Enterprise Servers, etc. would just jump and switch to iPhones.
