Ok a bit of an issue with my iPod

I have a 30GB Photo iPod and I was uploading some new songs to it. One song messed up for some reason and locked my computer to point I had to use the reset button on my computer.

Now I can't get my iPod to work correctly. I tired installing itunes and use the restore feature w/o any luck. Itunes said it can't restore it. I decided to reformat the iPod the old fashion way with my computers. iPod drive isn't listed. I tried a hard reset of the iPod, rebooting my computer, reinstalling itunes, different usb port w/o any luck. I still can use my iPod and go through the menus, however none of my songs are listed and I can't access it with my computer.

After an hr and half of trying to get it to work I drank a few ice cold shots straight up of green label johnny walker and temped to go buy a new iPod tomorrow or check into those 80+GB 1.8" hdd. Not a bad way to kick off the long weekend.

Would there be any good restore programs for the iPod?

I was playing around with the hard reset and it finally showed the drive in 'my computer' however only for a few seconds. I tried it again and quickly I got the format on the go before it disappeared.

Then when the format was done (hr later & a few more stiff drinks) windows said it couldn't finish the format WTF? Quick format, restore with itunes, and power plug BAMN!! good to go minus 2534 songs.

Balmer is a loser...and Microsoft uses just as much (if not more) DRM techniques as Apple...

Don't hate on something you've never used. My zune is so much easier to use and Ive never had an issue for transfering.

how is the zune playa? my ipod took a dump...damn headphone jack dont work...but I have the apple care program...I'm trying to hold out on sending it in until the new ones are announced

they don't sell teh zune in canada, there isn't a zune music store in canada, there is no support for the zune in canada...till MS decides to bring it to canada, not the best option (IMO)...

I've used the Zune and I don't care for it. Thanks for playing, I'll stick with my Ipod.

My brother had a zune for a day or two and hated it. Now he mainly uses his Sony K790a for an mp3 player.

I like my iPod and how it interfaces with my Alpine IVA-W200 deck. (6.5 TFT LCD FTW). I'm kinda glad I drank 1/3 of that bottle of johnny walker (710ml) straight up cause I would've said **** it and bought the 80gb video today instead.

Are there any optical out ports for the ipod? I haven't really searched before. I'm getting an Alpine H701 EQ and it has an optical in.

oh your ipod took. what a shocker. I gave up on apple on the second try. I love the zune, two of my boys also chucked there 30gb ipods for zunes. oh and heads up they will send you a refurb of your model not the newer.

How do you like the Zune software?...I've heard some mixed things about it on the web...

apple will send me a refurb but after a year bestbuy will give me a new one of the current model...this is pod number 2 that took a **** on me...my first 30gb pod was flawless...but some niqqas stole it

I don't know what those wieners are talking about I installed the software on 3 computers and it worked flawlessly. unlike the internet hate.
