IQ Religiosity Redux

Something to read

Something I didn't need a study for to conclude.

I just observed informally.

Might interest some people.

Might infuriate others.

Anyone intelligent will take it as a grain of salt.

that's a bunch of useless information, i'm actually a bit stupider after having studied that comparison intensely.

Thanks for helping me become more full of useless inadaquet information.

Interesting corelation, but id agree Bruce it something you don't need a study to prove. Seems to me that knowledge replaces religion (or blind faith) in more "advanced" countries. What do you think of IQ tests themselves? In anthropology i was learn't how IQ tests are 1/2 cultural and 1/2 knowledge, therefore they are not an overly accurate way of judging intelligence. For example i don't watch much tv (simpsons, family guy that i download), im not into pop music, pro sports or celebraties. Thus in theory i could do very poorly on an IQ test, yet i have an "A" average in college.

Actually it states that they are mean IQ numbers on the y-axis (To calculate mean in stats you sum the amount of observed value and divide it by the respondents). The percentile on the x-axis represents the respondents reaction to religious importance. It has to be taken with a grain of salt, as the hypothesis was not tested with the same respondents, it was not a controlled test group. It is interesting nonetheless. I still can't believe the mean IQ number is so low, Canada's mean was 97. Are slower people more inclined to actually participate in a survey??

Anyway, how many people here have taken a real IQ test?? I was tested years ago (I forget why too, it had to do with job or school), my IQ 156 back then.

it's like 110 or 120 normal? i'm above average as well.

maybe it's a bunch of potheads taking these polls.

no, i meant as a grain of salt.

i think the term 'with a grain of salt' is stupid.

as a grain of salt illustrates the insignificance more.

Polls show that 65% of Americans like polls.

Has anyone conducted a study on whether or not prayer increases your chances of overcoming illness or other unfavourable things? Perhaps statistics can prove prayer useless.

I keep praying that I won't be affected by male-pattern baldness; unfortunately God doesn't seem to be listening.
