Italians SUCK...
...well not all of them but this is just disgraceful.
ROME -- Italian soccer club Perugia has cut ties with South Korea's Ahn
Jung-hwan after he scored the overtime goal that knocked Italy out of the
World Cup, Perugia's chairman said in media reports Wednesday.
"That gentleman will never set foot in Perugia again," Luciano Gaucci told
sports' daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Italy has been furious about Tuesday's 2-1 loss to South Korea, accusing
the
referee and soccer's ruling body FIFA of fixing the match.
Back home, the Italian media were livid.
"Thieves -- the killer referee hounds the Azzurri out of the World Cup,"
the
Rome-daily Corriere dello Sport said on its front-page.
"Shame! The scandalous Ecuadorean referee -- Italy is out of the World
Cup,"
said the country's top-selling sports daily, Milan's La Gazzetta dello
Sport.
Ahn, who missed a penalty earlier in the match, was hailed as a national
hero when he headed home the golden goal winner in the 116th minute.
But his goal was viewed in a different light at Perugia in central Italy,
where he has been viewed as an underachiever during his stay with the
club.
"He was a phenomenon only when he played against Italy. I am a nationalist
and I regard such behavior not only as an affront to Italian pride but
also
an offense to a country which two years ago opened its doors to him,"
Gaucci
was quoted as saying.
"I have no intention of paying a salary to someone who has ruined Italian
soccer."
Ahn joined Perugia on loan from the South Korean team Pusan I.cons in the
summer of 2000. He scored five goals in 29 appearances.
A Perugia spokesman said Wednesday the club had virtually decided to
release
Ahn even before the World Cup tie.

hahaha...what a joke. that Luciano Gaucci sounds like a kid who just got his lollipop taken away from him. refusing to give the korean guy his contract just because he scored the winning goal against italy. hey i think i have a pic of this Gaucci guy...

the Reff was kinna on the Korea's side tho...
Tackle in the box ( no penality kick.. is okay.. but Yellow card for teh offensive playER... @ Extra Time.. WTF can that mean?)
plus the korean's had a Penality kick @ like 5minutes in... and they missed... so..
althrought out the World cup.. i notice ther was just so many calls that favours the host nations.. ain't even funnie... ( i guess that's the way it goes these days.. )

This is just becoming ridiculous, you lose you lose, ppl making such a big fuss about this. Its funny how my girlfriend was telling about this guy (gino of course) at her school was going around asking every ***** if they were korean, and if they replied "yes" he would harrass them. Such a pathetic individual, taking out his anger on the korean society as a whole. I know this isn't just happening at schools, its happening at a lot of places where upset italians are taking out they're anger and mistreating korean people. I just think its really ridiculous and very sad. Just shows how many sore losers are out there. Anyway, I think ppl should just get over it. It was a well played game by both teams and just happened that Korea won. I'm happy for them, but does not mean I'm putting down Italy, they played very hard and I congrat them equally as well! Hope everyone can get along!

I am very sad for the soccer world in general.
After the conduct of the Italians after their much debated loss I am almost (thats a big emphasis) ashamed to be of Sicilian decent.
After the way the refs clearly allowed Korea an advantage in the rulings I am ashamed that the sanctioning body of FIFA would hire such morons.
Face it, Italy lost.. I do not agree with most of the officiating in that game but I do agree that Italy did loose.
I agree that their actions were unbecoming of representatives of that country, soccer players and gentlemen.
However, as for Korea.. ROFLMAO, who do you think went over there and fought a war for them.. Canada...
Thats right folks! They might be able to play soccer, but they can't fight worth **** and when it comes down to it, soccer is just make believe battle...
Now that I feel better about being Italian/Canadian, I'm gonna go scarf down some raw red meat, wash up the Civic and get ready to come out there and back up my pro-italian comments at the Civic meet.

Even if there were bad callsin the game you did not have to put up wit ha "hand of God" goal.
This Italian team just never got it together and played like a team. They have just as many stars as any other big football country and like many others in this tournament just couldn't gel and become a team.

BTW.... my predictions for the quartefinals...
final 4 will be.... spain (but they choke alot so who knows), senegal, USA, and England... Brazil doesent look to well, i think the brits will pull it out

Actually, its a Columbian Necktie and a Glasgow Kiss and I am well aware of what both of them are and what each entails.
Being Sicilian myself and having hung out with plumbers and brick layers before I have NEVER heard of a Sicilian Necktie.
I could demostrate if you like... well at least the Glasgow Kiss cause the Necktie would kinda take away my career as an officer of the law..
