You drove around in circles in the parking lot for 40 min. Then you went home?

Yet still on All Season Tires, is it really worth using Winter Tires.

How does ABS sounds, it goes "grrrr" but clucking sounds, is that normal because its our first vehicle with ABS and 4WD. ABS is really sensitive, at Den + Kennedy just slowing down it engaged.

they do make a difference.

That sound you are hearing means that your tires are locking up...ie...sliding.....which means you are losing traction.

Get a set of M+S tires.

I have a set of M+S tires on the front, and all seasons on the back.
Car has PLENTY of grip on the front.....the back, well, I'm thinking of getting M+S tires for the rear too. Still doesn't have the grip that I'm happy with.

On the way home today, I was passing people that were going 40km on the 401.
Took me almost an hour to get home tonight.

M+S means mud and snow.(they are a bit noisier than all season tires though, but I can live with that.) Wheel spin wastes gas. LOL

They wear out alot faster than all season tires, but that is why I got a set from Crapy Tire. Alot cheaper there.

Also, if you get a set from Crapy Tire, when winter rolls around again next year, they will put the winters on for free!

(they only do that for the tires that are motomaster ones)

Just heard on the tv, that there were over 250 accidents today beause of the snow.

It only started to snow around 3pm! GEEZE!

Yes ABS does make a lot of noise, and you have to remember NOT to take your foot off the pedal when you feel that feedback and hear that noise, otherwise your ABS will turn off. The whole idea behind ABS was to take the reaction that people have to sudden braking (slam the brakes) and instead provide control by pulsating the brakes to allow the tires to grip and let you turn if necessary.

Here's a suggestion for you -- heck, to all of you -- take the opportunity to receive a day of training at the skid control school in Oakville. You'll learn not only how to recover and control skids but also learn about braking techniques and also try out ABS brakes in a controlled environment. All perfect things to learn for handling our winters.

I went through the training about 10 years ago shortly after I got my license. It was probably one of the most useful things I've ever done.

How many miles is Oakville from here, better hop on the mountain bike lol. Seriously how far is it, I remember some driving technique schools outside of GTA to learn about Safe Driving Techniques. How do you use handbrake?

Enthusiasts, keep your trunk filled with Winter Supplies.

Spare OEM Headlight
Ice Scrapper
Mini Shovel
De-Icer
Washer Fluid
Wiper Blades / Rubber

I dunno.

some people drive on winter just like they drive during the summer so accidents shouldnt be a surprise at this time of year. its a bad thing but you cant control other people. its just a shame when ur being careful and the other motorist isnt, and sometimes u end up getting into an accident that couldve been avoided. i hope that doesnt happen to us or to others.

"Gators" are a good addition to that winter kit. (The folding traction ladders)
