Ok, think of it this way, unlike car parts, jewlery is an investment. It doesnt' lose value. On the other hand, I dunno why you wanna spend a grand on ur girlfriend. So yeah... when buying diamonds, always go with the highest quality diamond you can afford. Quality>Size unless your g/f is a ricer
