Since when did attacking someone's religion become funny?

I don't think the tv ad is funny at all....I could be wrong but partially b/c Islam seems to be made a mockery of lately and if we don't step up and stop this...then ppl will think it's okay to continue to mock Islam and/or it's teachings by assimilating it with comedy

People have been making jokes about other people's religions before this tv commercial....its fine, lighten up, its just a joke...

mind you, this commerical does seem to be in bad taste...if you don't like it, don't buy their product or service

probably couldn't have said it better myself... everyone is generalized about, made fun of etc... every joke is made at someone's expense...

IMO as much as it isn't a nice thing to do it's GREAT publicity for them... (free publicty btw, they never even aired the commercial, the news took over for them), and all other religions around the world are mocked..

take family guy for example... they make fun of christians, cathoics, jews, the ****'s and hitler even etc... but if they made fun of muslims people would riot... go figure...

i never get why anyone cares what someone that doesn't believe their religion things of their own religion... it doesn't change my right to believe what i believe... i'm not looking for acceptance because of my religion, i believe it because i wanna believe it, who cares what everyone else thinks...

It's not what everyone else thinks, perhaps you should think more on a wide basis. Perhaps one day you'll have children, where they'll find it a norm to make fun of Muslims, Jews, Christians, because Comedy or Cartoon's justify it as it's fine to do. No joke here partner.

I will simply defend my faith, as anyone else should. Sitting on the side line, expecting something to be done, well you sure know life doesn't work like that.

not every community treats and follow religion with a high level of emotion as this one does....having said that, make no mistake about the fact that most followers of islam are NOT typically fundamentalists...they are moderate in their approach BUT at the same time...they consider their religion and its teachings as very close to them.

with all the tension around the world ovr this...it is more important for non muslims to atleast show some respect and tolerance towards the community in general.

Was to just going to say the same thing. Other religions especially the Catholic church get made fun of all the time, be it in Holywood movies, shows, commericals, etc. If you ask me I don't people need to lighten up. Every religion gets their fair share of the butt end of jokes. Thanks to some of the sensitive muslims, now they'll be known as cry babies too. Not trying to make a joke of it, but that's definetly going to happen.. well its happened already, Jay Leno always pokes fun at that.
