just a thought

i noe ppl are talking about what' s good car alarm system and stuff.....

but i was wondering...can anyone make a car alarm that if the car is stolen or driven off above like say 40 km/h without the alarm being deactivated that the driver side airbag would go off?

just imagine..guy steals ur car..starts to jet...then BOOM... 300lbs of pressure...that thing hurts...lol....well..just a though..tell me what u think..and btw..i dont care if u think it's stupid...lol

in case this does become produced...i thought of it first..so Copyright!! lol.... :working:

sounds like a good idea, but it may also be dangerous.

You would need to separate the circuit.

Every airbag system I know of will deploy both bags in a frontal collision.

I'm sure there's a benz or a bentley somewhere that senses no passenger in that seat and would disable that bag.

If you were going to modify a Honda Civic SRS system you would need to make the SRS bags independent.

This will insure you don't knock the driver out too.

Car goes smash?

I like the idea.

yes it can be done by someone with electronics experince...muahahahahaha (as for me doing it ...sorry but I've never sat down and looked at the airbag electronics ....so I would need 3 airbag systems just to prototype a circuit like that, form what I hear they are expensivie ...plus I already have a project on the go)

thats a good point about the tree
would you rather recover a injured thief with your smashed car or would you rather not find the thief and hope for a safe return of your car.

well either way once they have your car it's either going to be stripped or totalled ...personally I'd love to have the car kick there *** and force them to total it ...then they mak eno profit from my car and instead get to visit the hospital

If you could keep it on the downlow from insurance this would be great.

Yeah so you stole my car.

I'm gonna set off the airbags and stun you.

Make you hit a tree.

Without airbags cause they have already been deployed.

Instead of tree car veers into family of 5 out for a walk.

Bad idea..

that's a good point...well...

we just got to make sure that it doesnt deploy accidently on ourselves..just the thieves....

i dunno..i've had my car broken into once before, and i think breaking thier face in is not a bad idea....

This is a good idea, but I'd be afraid of the air bag exploding in my own face! There have been a couple of times when I've accidentally re-armed the alarm system while I was sitting in the car and had the siren go off when I started to drive! It would really suck if an air bag exploded in my face!

And I think that some cars do have seperate front and passenger air bag deployment. I think that they're found mainly in two passenger seat cars where someone may have to put a small child or baby seat in the front passenger seat. There are sensors built into the seat to calculate the size and weight of the person and with that info, it decides whether or not to deploy the air bag in the event of an accident. Some cars also have a switch where you can turn off the passenger air bag too. Needless to say, this kind of stuff isn't found in our Civics!!

i think they have a new alarm coming up, that's controlled by your cell phone... can even cut the fuel injection, and stop the car after you press some buttons...

it won't be dangerous because the stopping part will come up once the thief touches the brake
