most people dont take elevation into account before they buy a house lol

anyway new orleans being under water is a worst case scenario...aka unlikely

they are decided alphabetically...so katrina is the 11th cane of the season...usually named after women for the fury and wrath they unleash...the actual name itself, I dunno how they come up with it

You are right about the alphabetical part, but a storm doesn't get a name until it is categorized as a tropical storm. The names however are not all female anymore (they alternate between female and male), as some women's rights group complained years ago LOL

yeah, they aren't all women names
hurricane charlie was last year, and the worst one in american history (well until they find out the damage of this one) was hurricane andrew

yes correct they alternate based ont eh year. this year it's female males next year it'll be male names... just sems to work out the female hurricanes are the ones everyone remembers... anyone recall hurrican George last year?

They are still effed. I saw somw pix on the news tonite, damn. The whole downtown is under water. The ariel view showed the the steets looking shiny cuz they are flooded. Some of those people actually stayed to ride out the storm.
