Know a cop ah-hem, Police Officer?

I'm lookin for contacts. I want to join the force so that I can pull all you degenerate street racers over and pull the plates off all your cars LMAO!
Seriousely, I want to become a cop, but my goal would be ETF, Marine, or K9. Anyways, I'm just looking for contacts that I can talk to about the interview process. I know all about the testing, and I'm pretty confident on that...just need to get in a little better shape. I'm nervouse about the interviews though!
Anyways, let me know.
PS. Don't worry, I'll give TTC paid member a brake on the tickets LMAO!
Seriously though...lookin for any info that could help.

LMAO!!!! You've got to be kidding.....everybody that I talk to says that...."Marines are millitary"......No $hit LMAO! Sorry...it's just funny that EVERYBODY is so over come by the American Movie business of MArines thins Marines htat....LOL It's too funny.
I found out that that 2 year program is pretty much a waste and that MOST who graduate become securety gaurds and don't go much farther. They want any kind of college/Uni schooling. They just want to know you're educated. I have a Diploma and think I have the right mindset and attributes to do the job well.
And yes, I did mean Marine as in lakes and rivers etc....

well, for 1...there not even gonna look at your resume if you don't have ALOT and i mean alot of volunteer hours, also going to college with a well respected Police Foundations program which i'm going through right now also helps...and yes, not 2 many people past their first time, if you dont' pass you have to wait 6month to a year for your next try and there looking to hire different cultures in the force right now (which is a big *** plus for me) and also knowing cops ain't gonna do nothing unless you know the chief or the inspector....

well as for me, i was talking to the inspector at one of my volunteer places i was at and lucky for me i guess i made a real good impression on him because he gave me his buiness card and told me to call him when i'm 21 (which is in 6 months) i guess this is a rare thing for him to do becasue the precident of the club i was volunterring at told me that since the first day he met that dude i was talking to he never gave anyone his card, because you need to go to downtown police station and get it if you need it, but he told me that it's a big deal because he offerd it to me

I'm thinking about coming a police officer also. I have about 7.5 yrs of military behind me, but I not sure if that will help out all that much.

Have you attend a mentoring session yet?

Where do you volunteer? I want to talk to cops (mainly new ones) cuz I want to know what the interviews are like. What the questions are like. The testing is an issue as I know all about that 6 moth-a year (depending on what test) waiting period.
The whole minorety thing is a big PAIN for me. The worst thing going for me is that I'm a White Male. WTF! I hate this "quota hiring" thing. I don't want to start any racial discussions here. i have nothing against any race. I just think the best person (male or female, no matter what race) should get the job. I'm still looking for contacts. So please....if you know any rookies or people who have insight on the interviews, pls let me know.

well, the reason why there doing that is because Police Service the Community right? well, there suppose to represent the community they serve and there not, most of them are "white" <--- no offence, and that's why there hiring or at least trying to hire middle eastern and such to 'represent the community"

PM Sent.
I have attended a session as well as several practice tests done through Metro. They are free.
I understand WHY they do, I just don't like it. For example, the fire department has to have a min. number of women. Well if it comes down to a a guy who's 200+Lbs who's qualified and a women who's 130+Lbs...I'd feel more comfortable knowing it's the big strong guy hauling my butt out of the burning building than the smaller girl. Even though she's qualified, I want to know my body is getting out and that she's not struggling to ge tme out. I know that sounds sexist, I'm not trying to sound that way. Does this make sense? I just think the most qualified should get the job. I'd rahter know the best of the best are on the streets than have somebody who's got a certain colour of skin who may not be as good. Do you know what I mean? I'm not trying to put anybody down or anything. I'm just having trouble finding the right words. Like I said. I know WHY they do it. I just don't agree 100% with it. It does make some sense. I'd just want the best of the best no matter what race or gender.

-Do some volunteer work. Even if you already have a college dipolma or university degree, keep educating yourself through continuing education courses. Night school or online, it doesn't matter. Police Foundations can help, but any post graduate education looks great.
-Maintain a job for more then a few years if you can.
-Contacts within a Police Service can definately help, but won't guarantee anything.
-Try to attend an info session that most Police Services have. They can be beneficial in understand exactly what they expect.
-Stay motivated. Most people are not successful the first time.

Here are a few links that may help.

I applied to a few places years ago and got shot down. I'm currently trying to get my *** back into shape to to the ATS Testing and I'm taking a classes to keep my education up to date. PM me if you need any further info. I have lots.
