Angry laptop help...

hey everyone,
I was working on my laptop today and i went to the washroom and when I came back it was frozen on a black screen. Now I cant turn it off or turn it on and it wont reset... nothing... Its a Toshiba A70 Satellite.. if anyone has any ideas or knows anywhere that can fix it, Id appreiate it. The problem is I need it for school asap and its a big problem that I dont have it. Ive had the thing since september and never any problems before that.
Thanks

Did you try pulling out the battery?

If that doesnt work, since you got it in september, there should be a one year manufacturer warranty, so bring it back to the place you bought it from.

ok...on my laptop (IBM) you can actualy turn the screen off... so my suggestion is make sure you didn't accidentaly turn it off. (FN key & F7)

if not try pulling out the battery....wait for about 10 sec. put it back in and try turning it on again.

try that & let us know what happends

agreed about removing the battery.

also try pressing the power button down for around 5+ seconds. on some laptops, that forces a shutdown. then hit the power again to start it up.

when ever you shut down a computer like that make sure you wait from 8 to 10 sec MIN before starting it up again..... if you just shut it off and start it back up you might run into the same problems.

i read the first sentence and thought somebody stole it, hahaha. you shouldn't leave your laptop unattended to like that.

anyhow, i had a friend with a similar situation(not as severe though). he took it in for some professional love and they took care of it. i'd suggest the same. the sooner the better too b4 u lose everything

Did holding the power button down or removing/replacing the battery help? If it did you can prevent that from happening again by turning off powersave options such as "Turn off Hard Disk After X amount of Time" if the battery thing didn't work then you might need to reseat the video card in the laptop. It happens to so many Satellites. But if anything send it to a service station.
