Go LEAFS Go.
This is one of the gutsiest hockey teams I have ever seen. The more players they loose the better they play.
Maybe this is their year. destiny and all that crap.

See, this is an interesting concept...

Most people become Leaf fans when they make this far simply because it allows a sense of "city spirit" and allows conversation with those who are hockey fans, a sense of bonding and a way to distract oneself from the everyday BS that folks have to deal with.

I have never really been a die hard Leafs fan but have always had a moderate amount of interest in who was doin what.

Anyways, needless to say.. If it was someone living in Bora Bora screaming "GO LEAFS GO WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO" when they made it this far then THAT is a bandwagon, however local bandwagons are a matter of perspective.

Besides, if the Leafs win it gives me an excuse to head back to my favorite watering hold and just get **** faced.

Regards,
OK

That guy was given a five minute major and a game misconduct because it states in the rule book that if a player is checked into the board and they are injured in any way on their head, the person must be given a 5 minute major and a game.

All i wish would happen is that corson takes out alfredson!
The leafs win or lose played the best ive ever seen them play the last two games. I will back them, next year from the start not wait till playoffs and hop on the band waggon like a lot of people do.
ya.. you tell em....
BTW: the bandwagons hoppers were expecting the leafs to win b/c there was 5 minutes left in the 3rd...and the leafs were up by a goal...
the real leaf fans were expecting OT

I will admit that I'm not the biggest hockey fan in the country. I have only watched maybe a dozen or two full hockey games in my life including the Olympic games. But when a team that is in your own city that you live in or the same country and they make it this far most ppl start to get involved somehow. If the Leafs lose tomorrow I will probably not watch the remanining games or even the series for the cup. Does that make a non fan? Just wondering your 2 cents.

Anyways regardless how the Leafs do they kicked *** this year!!!!!!!!!

I am a Leafs fanatic. We are painting our bathroom Maple Leaf blue. But I am not a big hockey fan. I'll watch the playoffs but I won't watch regular season hockey unless it is the Leafs.

Anyways, was a good game. Leafs were great at penalty killing but for the love of god they couldn't play 5 on 5.

Mouginly gets a pass which I swear god delivered himself cause that was perfectly on his stick and ready for him to shoot it. He is useless but at least he came up big when placed in the position.

Anyways here are my non-professioanl opinions.

- Leafs need to learn how to play man to man a bit better

- Need to learn that checking is GOOD, just do it properly so you don't draw penalties (like within the last 5 minutes of the game).

- Joseph needs to learn to keep his *** in net instead of trying to be like Roy and coming out to save the day.

- The leafs need to learn that 3 folks standing infront of Joseph is called "screening" and goalies don't like that.

- They need to work on their 5v5 game. They can play 4v5 great but man to man needs a bit of work.

Regards,
OK

actually i beg to differ on a couple points

first off, mogilny is toronto's offensive magician now that sundin is out. mogilny creates chances almost every time he is on the ice. he's had incredibly bad luck in this series so far but now that he has finally scored, the flood gates might be open for him.

secondly, i thnk joseph was having problems because he is playing too far IN his net. he has to come out and challenge the shooters and take out the angle in order to be more effective. a lot of goals in this series and last series were a direct result of him staying too deep in his net.

i thnk leafs usually play create 5 on 5. they score the majority of their goals during a 5 on 5 situation. the only exception was last night when they miraculously scored 2 power play goals. but on a normal day, it's their power play that needs work. their penalty killing was struggling as well against the islanders because players like aki berg and lumme refused to clear the front of the net. i'm glad that lumme is hurt actually, the team is better without him!

any of you guys keep an eye on dempsey?

I did, and i tell you what, he played pretty damn good! For a guy that playin his first NHL game this year in the playoffs, and for them to throw him in when facing elimination, he did way better than i expected him too. He showed some good poise and nice movement with the puck, and was pretty good defensively. I dont care if lumme is better, they should keep playin dempsey.

Ponikarovsky is pretty good too. He's quick, and is storng on the puck too.

yes dempsey looked surprisingly good considering how bad he played when they called him up during the regular season. same goes for eriksson, he was a joke in the regular season but he's actually playing well in the playoffs. both these guys are better than Lumme that's for sure!!

another POS player is Reichel....man he really pisses me off when he's on the ice!! doesnt even look like he's into the game at all!

Thats the good thing about hockey, everyone can have their own opinions...

You have some astute perceptions however I am sticking with my original analysis.
