you can bet i wont be jumping back on this year...

i hope they dont make the playoffs....management will just pat themselves on the back for another season well done...and toronto is stuck with the same mediocre team...

blow em up and start from scratch... most these guys gotta go.

For sure they need to restructure the team. Im getting sick of Quinn. If they make the playoffs good for them, if they dont, life goes on, till next season.

Anyone remember how Canada was playing in the olypmics? Dump and grab, thats exactly how the leafs play, damn quinn!

you seem like a bandwagoner thats just agreeing with everyon here that says the same old junk..fire quinn, blame it on quinn.. this is the first time in like 8 yrs that the leafs havent made the playoffs so fire him..thats bs.. hes a really good coach.. its just that he's gotta start reworking his strategies to adapt to the younger roster.. i agree dump and chase is boring but.. its bin working for the leafs.. and if you watch hockey..some games are complelety the opposite.. and the very few that are ...are exciting to watch..

look at larry brown.. he went from veterans in detroit to NY with teh younger players..

this is the first yr that the leafs have alot more younger talent.. steen, stajan, aubin ..whatever.. he's going from 40 yr old roberts to 20/30 somethings... give him a break.. i hope they make the playofs

You noticed how the leafs earlier on when the older guys were injured and not playing and the younger guys were, they were winning? It's not rocket science on what they need to do. But they keep on recycling the old guys in the league by picking them up based on what they "used" to do back in the day.

I am not a leaf fan, but they can do so much better if they really think about re-tooling the team, not majorly but significantly.

look at how much they got lindros for.. if they can get "recycled" veterans for that price then why not.. pair them with some younger guys and you've got a good team.. some significant changes yes.. but quinn isnt one of them IMO... berg belak OUT.. solid defensemen is what we need .. young defensemen.. were a pretty slow team..

Updates:

Okay, Leafs not out yet...
Still mathematically possible, but here's what they need to do:

A) Win the last 3 games (it'll be tough with Ottawa and Buffalo, Pittsburgh should be no problem).
B) Need Atlanta to lose at least 1 game (easy opponents, all 3 games are with under .500 teams and are out of the playoff race).
C) Need Tampa Bay to lose all 3 remaining games (opponents are 2 games with Carolina and 1 with Washington).

So, if this can be achieved, Leafs will be in the playoffs.

I give the leads a 8% chance of making post season.

QUIN is a horrible coach. he in no way, has adapted to the new nhl which is designed to let the fast skilled players sign.

all quin has done in toronto is bring back old timers.

ive patented the saying for nhl players.

"retire or go to toronto" olan nolan/lindross and the rest.

and someone tell me what mogilny is doing in the minors.

big changes need to me made, and firing quinn is where to start.

the recent success of the maple leafs is in no way due to the goalies, which have been blamed for much, its just the teams last desperation to try and make someting of a horrible season. Aubin has just jumped on the bandwagon and is riding a teams hotstreak. I have no faith in him, and he lacks experience.

Quinn is a amazing coach, anyone who says different obviously doesn't know anything about Pat Quinn. He is probably the most intelligent and educated coach out there.

The expectations for the Leafs team this seasons is that they would achieve 90 points. It was also estimated that 90 pts would be needed to his the playoffs. Currently the Leafs have 86 pts with 3 games remaining. They should be able to hit that target, and if they do then Quinn has done his job.

If any management should be fired, it should be JFJ. He's the one responsible getting rid of Roberts and Nieuwendyk because they couldn't get passed a difference of 500K, and bringing on Allison, Lindros and Neill all who have been less than spectacular. Allison's contract was the worst, although he signed at 1 million, he had bonuses built into his contract that would payd his 220,000 for every 4 games he played and we would have paid 4 million had he hit 70 games, thank goodness he got injured.

At 4 million we could have picked up much better talent.

To all the Quinn bashers that say he doesn't like the kids and has a loyalty to the older players. Remember this, everyone of the new guys Steen, Stajan, Wellwood, White, Ondrus, Bell... the list goes on and on, were all drafted and picked by Quinn while he was GM. Kaberle, Tucker, Sundin, all grew up in the Leafs organisation under Quinn's tutalage.

If he is so fantastic, why hasn't Quinn brought T.O. the cup yet?

Guys, you can't pin-point any one person or player from the stuff white shirts down to the water boys. It's a team chemistry and the Leafs just don't have it (or until the last 9 games or so ago...7-0-2).

How can some of you even think that Quinn sucks?? are whack, or jus do have any knowledge, concept of the game?? Out of how many Canadian coaches out there they pick Quinn to be team Canada's coach not once but twice! You don't think that means something? Or maybe Canada just said Quinn sucks so lets use him! Quinn is the best coach T.O. has ever had, with the exception of this year he has brought T.O. to the playoffs every year! that's like what almost a decade now? It's not his fault the OWNERS don't wanna spend the cash to get some players.

Leafs go BYE BYE!

I gotta say that they tried little too late (8-0-2). Anytime during the regular season, that 10 game record would be considered fantasic...

Now, let's see some real hockey!!!
