^ I don't believe it's that mentallity they aren't trying anymore. Don't forget, they lost every game in Buffalo this season and correct if I'm wrong, they haven't won a game at the HSBC in like a few seasons...

they can't keep up with the sabres style of play....now that you can't use the clutch and grab to slow down the fast forwards...the leafs weak defence is further exposed
