That's the funny thing.....he has no control over how people will recieve this.......he thought it was funny....he's Chinesse. That I find funny.
Sinbad and a bunch of other black comics make fun of their own race, and you don't see black people getting their nuts all in a bunch do you? They HAVE a sence of humour, and they realize that it's a joke.
Again, If you can't make fun of your own race.....weather it be good or bad, then who can you make fun of?

funny I am white my girl is Japanese/Taiwanese mix, I have lived in the chinese culture for over 10 years I can speak some Cantonese and sing Chinese Japanese, and Korean. I can find a lot of things said about Chinese or asians to be very offensive to me because they are my friends and loved ones. They took me in when my own race rejected me. But I can never take offence to someone who make jokes or racest remarks about their own race. I mean should I go into the post where they said gway Lo and get mad?? It is racest it doesn't really translate into white boy does it, Gway Lo to the best is Ghost Man I don't find it offencive. But I have lots of people call me that and others go you shouldn't let them it isn't a good word. It is a nickname and I don't care what it means.
But I think sometimes people consintrate on colour of skin too much and they are truly the negative racists.

btw I too get the white devil name when I go places with my wife and family.......doesn't bother me.
BTW Al your comment that black people don't get their nuts in a bunch is completely false. They DO go after the comics....the only thing is you haven't read about it. Al Sharpten (sp._ comes to mind as a person that does take objection to the comments. I think the whole point is: yes we know its out there but let's not be a part of the problem, let's be a part of the solution.

the majority of people on here dont even think of the joke in a negative way. Its a funny joke which has lost his ORIGINAL meanin to it. Just like calling a black person a ******. If i were to call a random black person a ****** he will most likely kill me, but when my friend calls me a ***** or i call ma friend a ***** we dont intentionally mean it in the original meaning but we are merely communicating in slang terms. wow...this is one long thread...finally finished reading it and, to be honest, hearing it from a fellow asian doesn't seem as bad as if it were to come from someone else. Like gatherer said, if you can't make fun of your own race, who's can you make fun of?? It's not like he said something like "**** everyone who is asian...y'all can eat ****"...then I'd really be pissed off and likely to tear out his throat but, he didn't. Hell, I deliberately speak like that sometimes and I laugh about it and so do my friends, asian and non-asian alike. There really is no harm in it aslong as you are sensible enough to distinguish between a joke and a comment. Geez, 94EGHB does that all the time but, do I knock his lights out? NO...of course not. And, I'm sure his intentions were not to insult...being that he is asian aswell and if it were his intentions, I'd laugh even harder cause he'd be dissin' himself...
