"Leave'n on a jet plane...."

As of Sunday morning I will be in Varadero Cuba while you suckers are here freezing your a$$es off.

The fiance and I are staying at the Beaches Varadero until the following Sunday. We plan on doing some diving and touring of Havanna.

And sorry to disappoint the ladies, but I will be returning a married man.

i was there last year at Barcelo Solymar... its right near Beaches

heres a tip, rent the mopeds and cruise around veredero

and mike, off the main drag in veredaro in the town, there is a park that you can go into, the entrance is a white wall with a gate going into it... when you get into it, go left and walk around the little pond and once your on tyhe other side, stop by the little drink hut, the first one on the left... the guy there is the funniest old guy in the world and the drinks he makes will put some "spark" into ya

trust me, thats one place u wanna go

Oh yeah, about those mopeds, when I went, the staff at my resort said no to go on them because they are not responsible for any accidents and they do happen often. And as she was telling me this, a guy was walking back all bloody and **** from getting robb'd and thrown off his. That made me walk away quickly

I got back from there last week and guess what it wasn’t as hot as I’d hoped (it is there winter you know)any ways hope the weather is better for you

As for the money it’s at exactly the same as the American dollar when it comes to exchange rate (so about .75 on the dollars) and as far what to do with the money on the way back just exchange back when your at there airport but really there’s no harm doing it at our banks (they just want take anything less then 20 bucks).

I read the exchange rate is 1 for 1 on the pesos convertible from the canadian dollar and .90 for 1 on the american dollar (1 american dollar buys one pesos convertible)

Thanks guys. I was going to have a stag and doe/reception in the spring when the weather gets wamer. I'm sure everyone will be welcome as long as you bring lots of $$$.

It's my understanding that Havana and the bigger cities/towns are very safe for tourists because our money totally stimulates their poor economy. If anything eserious ever happened to a Canadian tourist, Castro would shoot them in the street to set an example for the rest of the people. I wouldn't rent a scotter anyway. I'd probably kill myself.

The money the tourists use is called a Convertible Peso. I guess it's almost equal to the Canadian dollar and you can exchange it at the airport on the way home. Our resort is ultra-inclusive and I don't plan on buying anything except for some cigars and tipping.

I hope a tsunami comes and wipes out the resort and you... oops did I say that outloud? must be my bitterness of having to stay back in the cold....
Have an awesome time and be good. Be sure to see the tipping thread for good advice before leaving too...lol Take lots of canadian flags to hand out and trade for free stuff. They love us over there. Bring me back some 151proof rum. Love you!

have fun! remember, if you get really drunk for your wedding, you can have the marriage annulled later on for lack of legal competency... you can't enter into a legal agreement while really drunk. but if everything works out, no one will be the wiser. it's like a pre-nup but w/o the hassle of her having to sign

no actually I just thought of it. I've never looked death.... I mean marriage in the face for real, so I never thought about it before. Closest I ever came to marriage was... waking up in someone elses bed. lol On the other hand one of my buddies has been engaged 3 times, and he's maybe a year or two older than me. haha
