Some people don't like Paul Martin... out of all the candidates I probably like him as a person the most. Jack Layton is Mr. Smiley, Harper is just creepy, Gille .. well he's pretty damn funny but I obviously can't vote for his party. You can call Paul a douche, but he was Finance minister of Canada and was pretty damn good at it. Not to mention he is making less money now as Prime Minister then he was as Finance minister, kind of makes me think he actually cares about the country and not just himself if he is willing to make that kind of financial sacrifice... but I obviously could be wrong.

LOL, I was going to say, based on what, until I read your last sentence.

A lot of what you have said it seems more based on visual persona than actual facts and what they stand for, or bringing to the table. That is the problem with most people I believe, they don't find out the facts for themselves.

Michelle and I have had discussions on this lots about what is being done, said and recinded. Too many people have followed the Liberals because that is what their parents have done or what everyone else has done(me included). I will be listening closely to what all parties have to say, also trying to watch what the debates are all about, hopefully(but highly unlikely) it won't be a mud slingfest.

It would be nice to see some kind of positive change happen towards a better future. I have pretty much lived my life, but I want something here for my kids when they are adults.

All in all, I am glad to see that you guys are very interested and passionate about this.

Nothing against you...I just want to dispell the myth.

Paul Martin is already richer than any of us here could ever dream about. His family (He was directly involved until a scandal about it a few years ago) owns a very large and successful shipping business based out of the Canadian Tax Haven of Barbados. Great tax planning on his part. I always admire tax avoidance plans.

His sacrifice includes a six figure salary, a house, transportation, and an expense account far larger than the Minister of Finance.

Any Prime Minister will have this, our core concerns should be for each of us is how they plan to spend OUR money. Vote for the solution you believe in.

Like I said his salary was still more as Finance Minister.... I agree there are obviously perks to being Prime Minister, and I already know about Paul Martins Rich upbringing hence why I don't think it is a myth because he could just either retire or spend time being an entrepreneur making more money and having less stress. That's just the way I see it. Anyway my point wasn't to say that I would vote on him just on his appearance, I never said that. All in all I am voting to whatever party benefits me the most, and everyone should do the same. So clearly there can be no party that is better then another since not everyone will view things the same way as others. You can only vote for what you think is best for you.

Ex. I am young so what's important to me right now is the cost of education, and childcare or healthcare is not really up on my list at present because I do not have children or go to the hospital very often. However in time my priorities will change and so will my vote
