looking for a Mechanics apprenticeship

Eh guys, sorry to bug you, but I am looking for a Mechanics apprenticeship... Anyone know anyone hiring or a good place to go to...? I have been working on friends cars for years and I did it for 4 years in high school... done some swaps and some stock engine changes, brakes etc... But I can't catch a brake... anyone have any tips...? I was even working for a friend, but the owners didn't know how to run the company... I am going to throw my resumes out to Honda etc... But I am trying everything...

Thanks guys, Jeff

with the experience you appear to have, contact the apprenticeship people yourself, see if they can give you "time alloted" for the time you've been in the biz..

they too might be able to direct you in some sort of direction as they're dealing with guys everyday that are in the field..they might know of some places willing to give a newb a break..

I'm getting my apprenticeship through school.
I'd go that route if it's an option for you.

that's the best way to hook up with a job... I mean, the shops go to the schools to look for qualified ppl.

something else you can try....
specialize..

you can usually get into a tranny shop or something along those lines quite easily..spend a few months learning how to re-n-re and then get hooked up into the apprenticeship thing....

that's how i got licenced.. 3 years and i was legal to do trannys, rear brakes, diffs etc etc...

something to consider..

and if all else fails try looking up the mechanic union and they could put you in a really good shop that teaches you.

TCC is great for that.

With Centennial you've got a few options on courses and apprenticeships(GM, Ford, Honda Toyota, etc.).

Good luck!
