Mecp
Just wondering if there are any installers out there with their MECP, and are working in the industry right now. I was thinking of going to mobile dynamics for school.
I was thinking about doing this, but pay seems to be on the low side. So that's what's making me hesistate whether I should go forward with this or not.
I want to know what the pay is like?? (if you don't want to post how much money you make, you can pm me). I just want to know this, so I can make a judgement whether to persue a carreer in the industry or not.
I want to know what the pay is like at like best buys, 2001 audio video, and other big box retail stores are like.
TIA, Phu.
btw, I've been thinking about this for several years now.

Yeah pay isn't something to make this a career move, unless you start your own shop.
Don't do Mobile Dynamics. Waste of $, and a lot of it. You learn some cool stuff, and the profs are good ( I've worked with them many times on related matters), but ask any installer and they'll tell you that you can learn all of that on the job.
The amount of MD people that come in to shops that I know, looking for jobs is nuts, and no-one wants to take them because they totally melt down in a realworld environment and don't have the experience.
Start at a shop, helping out, build your skills, and just go for the certification on your own. School will be fun no doubt, I've had a blast at their facility here in Toronto, but working in a shop for a while will show you if it's something you really want to do for a long time, and keep you from making a bad large investment (MD aint cheap).
