Sure people have the right to smoke. However, people should realize that they are hurting themselves. And if you willfully proceed to hurt yourself, then you should pay you hospital bill when you are dying of cancer and need palliative care.
I work in a hospital and I see all the losers that are "so sick", but they still need to go out for a cigarette.

Its the Candian way, make the people pay for services then find ways to deny them access to those services...you make too much money, you smoke, you were born here, ect.

I think we are definately over-governed, over-taxed, and under-appreciated.

Since smoking is the leading cause of deaths in Canada, it easier to attack smokers.

Also, the government isn't telling you, "you can't smoke". You want to smoke and kill youself, do it in your own home or your car, don't kill me. But if, the government says that you can't smoke in BAR which is under liquer License, a GOVERNMENT license, which is a privilage to have, not a right, then you can't smoke in a bar. Bottom line. So I dont see why people complain.

Go smoke in your house.

But look at thr rip bars. You pay for a "membership" (a paper card that costs $5) and now its a private club where you can smoke. Even worse are the casinos. The gov't runs those and it's okay to smoke. If the gov't is going to get hardcore, they should take some accountability and enforce their policies equally. You find the same level of slacking in nearly every level of management, no matter where you work.

i read your statement a few times because i thought i noticed something underlying in what you said and i did though it is easily missed. i agree totally with your complete statement.

now if you didnt actully mean to it only confirms that i tend to read way to much into things.

my argument is the government is so against it, but allows it cause they want the money.

if it is so bad that private establishments are not allowed to allow it, it should be illegal.

one or the other. not both.

I'm pretty sure that has changed, that's #2

#1 leading cause of death is lack of exercise

we can sue coca-cola, pepsi-co, hostless, mcdonalds, harveys, burger king, wendys, kfc, chcolate manufacturers, offices for not providing a workout facility in the business environment, television manufacturers, IBM, intel, AMD, ASUS, video game makers, car companies (manufacturers and dealers separately), and even the TTC cause we should be riding bicycles in the summer.

if every group was forced to pay ontario $10 million a year, maybe we would all become immortal. we could live in tubes asleep for 203 years on average if we slept the whole time.

that's probably the healthiest thing to do.

6-7 years? 1/2 to a full pack a day? depending on if i went out.

i still smoke cigars now and then.

when i'm really trashed, i'll have a few and regret it the next day cause i'll smell like smoke, my nose will be plugged, my chest might hurt, and my throat will be scratchy.

i'm honestly really happy i'm no longer a smoker. $35 more to spend on booze a week.. i will still plan on smoking on vacation, if you don't smoke when you're in cuba or a similar country, i think you're stupid.

i stopped drinking coffee along with cigarettes... that's the best combination on earth... now i am no longer addicted to coffee either.

i've only ever been addicted to coffee and cigarettes. i drink a lot, but i never felt the need to.. and "drugs" are not as addictive as i wouldn't consider doing any during office hours or such anyway. i'm not big into that anyway.

i think pot is fairly addictive though... look at how many people there are who are chronic. you can't say it's not addictive get high every day.

at least coke head lawyers have jobs. stupid potheads get nowhere.

i don't go for that mr garbage.
I see paul martin usually once a week, or at least once a month... I take care of his jet while hes here in montreal... I usually get to say hi, odd times alittle small talk if hes waiting for transportation or a media thing...

PMs here are nothing compared to Presidents...They are just like another government employee... nothing special... Presidents get treated like kings. Bush gets Airforce One and a helicopter with an army of security. Pms in canada get a challenger jet (if its available..ive seen him show up in a citation) lol with some drunk *** rcmp's for security j/k im sure they arnt drunk

As for the cigs and medicare expenses, the gov bul****s everyone with the smokin causes tax payers health care expenses... Did any one stop and think about how much tax a smoker pays throughout a lifetime of smoking compared to a non smoker? almost 9 bux a pack... half of it is prolly taxes... Ive read studies that an average daily smoker exceeds his lifetime medical bills in cigerette taxes before he hits the hospital for the first brain anyerism/ smoking related injury.

I dont think it's a physical addiction at all...more of a mental if anything. You don't go through withdraw like other drugs. Plus I know a lot of succesful pot heads.
Lawyers are workers for the devil anyways haha
