Question Migraines

Just wondering if anyone in the TCC is suceptible to migraines. I get them a lot, I think that I get to many.

Has anyone ever done anything about them (eg. drugs, any other remedies)?

For mine to go away if it isn't to bad, I take two Advil Migraines about four times a day.

I don't mean to be a ***** either, but if you want serious feedback on a medical condition call a doctor, don't post on the civics club msg board.

Do you remember what triggered the "cluster headaches" (according to Dr. Bond)...like what life change brought them on...like a stressful job, wife, etc.

Perhaps the lighting in your office, or the particular air in your home could all be culprits.

You and the Mods don't want to see what I am thinking for a response to that.

There are a lot of people in the TCC that I can say are friends and who I trust for advice on this board!

Try smoking weed... seriously. What THC does is thin's out your blood. Headaches are usually casue by strenious pressure by blood.

Weed is the way out!

I have no idea what brings them on, I get so many of them. I went to the doctors back in the summer and he said just to monitor them for a bit.

this is a family board that the cops may check...being the biggest board in Canada and all.

What the hell is wrong with you suggesting something like that, that's no permanent solution. Sure it may help in the short term, but he needs to get to the root of the problem, not smoke himself dumb. THC does have qualities not found in traditional medicine, but it is not without side effects. I wouldn't let marijuana abuse be my daily escape from headaches.

yup, i get migraines too. they are absolutely the worst. usually puts me out for an entire day and those damn advil migraine tablets dont do jack for me. i get them about once every month to two months. been happening for almost 2 yrs now. never used to get them before but now that they've started it seems like they'll never go away.

doctor recommended that i try this over the counter herb called "Feverfew". that didnt help either.

the only thing that actually works is prevention. i find that as long as i get 8-10 hrs of sleep on a consistent basis the migraines dont come nearly as much. also have to avoid staring at the tv or computer screen for too long.

Shredder>> how often do you get them??

I suffer from migraines too... something I inherited from my mom. The Advil migraine pills really don't help me much either. I've also tried neuro-magnets, natural solutions, and pretty much everything else save for prescription drugs. Nothing seems to work. I just find a dark, quiet room and try to sleep it off.

Wink

My mom used to get very bad headaches... It has a lot to do with the ongoing stress in your life. Other things that might affest it is the air quality you breathe... believe it or not. I dont have an answer to what will completely stop your headaches, buti do know that things like regular exercise, nutrition, and a walk in a park outside the city might do more good than you'd think.
Good-Luck!

John, it's worth a shot to try the Q-ray bracelet. Don't know if it'll help you but it has helped some.

http://www.qraybracelets.com/

Good luck buddy!
Regards!

Showcase TV in the Oshawa centre has them on order. Around $70. Waiting for mine!

John......a friend of mine used to get them alot.......would you believe that giving blood might help? It did in my friends case.

he goes every few months......the blood preasure no longer has a chance to build up.

It will also help those that need blood.

Two birds with one stone.

Before you try the "giving blood" thing, discuss it with your doc.

It helped my friend.

He used to get them at least once per month..............he had only 2 last year after starting to give blood.

Very interesting.....................thanks for the replies...............I guess I will have to try some of these out to see what the outcome is. I think I will make a trip to the doctors first and see what he says again.
