Mirc??

WHat kind of interent do you have? Cause my cable (cogeco, i live in Windsor) is capped. So if yours is, you shouldn't be d/ling any movies. Use Kazza for Mp3s, its easier to use and you won't be at the same risk of being hack. (mIRC shows your IP which makes it easier for a hacker to hack into your computer) If you do not have a capped net. Then let the d/ling begin. The BEST way to us mIRC is to go to www.packetnews.com then just go into the search and type in what you want. Then you will have to go into the server and then into the channel where you will type (i forget right now) then it will start to d/l if the slots aren't full. If they are, you'll have to wait till they aren't. I would say use Kazza, you can d/l movies from there but they aren't always the best quailty and sometimes they aren't even the damn movie that it says it is. Thats all what i have to say.

You go to the website, type what you want in where it says, Search All Networks For (You type in the name if it) THen press Search. Servers will show up on the page along with the botname, pack number, etc. You have to click on the server and then go into the channel, the channel will be in the servers name. The best channels to go to are the ones that say 15/20 slots. After when you are in the channel, you will need to type /ctcp "the bot's name" xdcc send #pack number . Everything that you need is on that webpage. It will say the bots name. Meaning the person who you will be d/ling off of. The pack number is kinda a code for what you want. It takes a while to get the hang of it but it works out pretty good. If you are going to be d/ling movies, make sure that your internet isn't capped. Meaning that you are limited to d/ls. If you go over the limit, you have to pay for each gig that you went over, and it doesn't come cheap. Get the bigger files if you are d/ling movies because most of the time the bigger the better quality. If you are going to burn them on VCD, make sure that they are .mpg or .mpeg. Which ever works. Thats the basics of useing mIRC. Let me know if you have any other questions, ill try to answer them best to my knowledge.
