Misunderstood?

anyone ever get misunderstood on this forum?

I mean, like people take things totally literally or personally??

How do u know what a person is really typing on the net when all u see is black and white? Its all text. . . when someone types, there is no emotion. . isn't that why we use smilies??

just wondering.

not here, but at other forums i've had what i've typed misunderstood..
MSN and ICQ really suck for that too..
without knowing who you're talking to it's easy to have things taken out of context..

guess the difference here is that most have met me and know who i am and my demeanor in general.. (hmmmm..is that a good thing or not?? )

I think smilies are a way to show emotion and yes some people just take it too seriously.

For gods sake is just a smilie.

Not here, but other boards all the time. Maybe here too though...but I think ppl know I'm usually just foolin around...only technical stuff I write is serious, the rest is usually jokes. So if you ever took something I said seriously, it was prob a joke in poor taste

I am misunderstood alot, due to the fact that I am quite sarcastic at times. If ppl do not know me, it is always taken out of context.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey TISH!! whats up? u finally made it on the boards!!

anyway, i got in trouble for a smilie i used for something that i was upset about at the moment when i was writting something. I didn't know "some" people would take it literally and personally.

So if there were no smilies, i guess writting on these boards would be EMOTIONLESS (if thats even a real word)

a lack of a sense of humor is a dead emotionless person.

not saying that u should have a sense of humor to everything but just taking things literally.

u know, when people get upset sometimes they say things they dont really mean or they dont intend to do. They just say it cuz they are upset or pissed off or something. . and then when the matter cools down everything is ok. . . .

anyway not too sure what i'm rambbling about . . .

here's a smilie that makes me laugh -->

here's another one thats not on these boards -->
